The Herald - * new Standard War At
las Is a very timely publication, which
seems to be well planned to answer the
questions which people are asking
about countries In different parts of
the world. The maps arc In sufficient
detail to be entirely intelligible, and the
low price at which the atlas is pub
lished, 30 cents, will make Ignorance
unpardonable. Tteallsing the value of
such an atlas The Augusta Herald ar
ranged with the publishers for a special
edition. As this new atlas Is not for
sale at any of the stores, our renders
should hasten to send for a copy be
fore the edition Is exhausted.

RAN A WILD RACE.
noonshiners Had “nountaln Dew”
In Their Wagon.
Athens, Ga., Sept. 8— A few days
since a white man named Sid Pace
was driving a country wagon along
the road leading Into Cornelia, Ga.,
when he suddenly spied two Internal
revenue officers coming after him.
Ho Immediately Jumped out of the
wagon and put out for dear lifo in
the opposite direction from the offi
cers.
The officers made a chase, but failed
to get the nimble mountaineer, so they
went hack and confiscated his wagon
end its contents. The latter had
among them several Jugs of “mountain
dew,” puro, unadulterated and un
stamped.
Now, it appears that the mules and
wagon belonged to a Mr. Anthony,
who lives near Nicholson, Ga.. and
who loaned them to Pace who wished
to go to a picnic up in the mountains.
Anthony Is anxious to get back his
property and has employed counsel to
secure It for him. Steps will be Im
mediately taken by Mr. Anthony's at
torneys, Shackelford & Shackelford, to
regain his team.
