on the market, and with a limited inquiry, prices
have somewhat given way. The market for some
time paet hat been flooded with Bacon of an in
ferior qnality, whioh has kept good meat out ol
the eity. The eupply of new m*at now on eele
it ample, and aalea here been made at all prices
from 14a22 for Sides and Shoulders, We quote,
however, choice Sides, which are rather scarce*

Bonaa—Owing to the holidays, there has been
but little done in-Bntter during the week. The
stock ou sale ie good, with a limited demand.
Prime New York Goshen is quoted at 50a68c;
Prime Western, which ie scarce at 46c per lb.
BAOOixa—The demand for this article since
our last has been quite light. The stock on sale
is only moderate, but fully equal to the demand
We quote aa the ruling rates for Gunny Bagging,
88c; Sea Island, 82o.
Cbekw—There has been quite an active de
mand for’ Prime Ootfhen, ond Western Cheese
has been rather scarce during the week, and
what little is ou the market is selling at 21c per
lb. For English Dairy and Prime Goshen Cheese
there baa been bnt little inquiry, while the stock
ie quite full. We quote English Dairy, 28aSlc;
Prime Cream, 22a28o rer lb.
Cabbages—Have been rather scarce in this
market during the week, aod the demand lias
been rather ac ive in consequence of the holi
days. Some few email lots have bee n received
during the week which have readily Bold at $12a
16 per 100-
Cobk—The corn market hae been rather dull
duriDg the week, but prices have undergone no
change. Our dealers have moderate supplies on
sale which they are selling at f I 30al 40 per
bushel, sack included. The price from shipboard
ie 1 lOal 15 per bushel.
Coffee-Our market ie now fully supplied
with all descriptions of Coflee, with a very light
demand during the paet week. In fact, there
has been scarcely anything doing in the article
ginoe our last, and the article for shipment
the interior is without sale. Holders, however,
are quite stiff in their prioes, which we quote a
fallows; Rio, 88a86c; .lava, 42a45c; Ht. Domingo
81a38e per lb.
Flocb—The staok of Flour on the market ii
rather heavy, with a fair inquiry. We quote
Extra Family Ohio, $11 per bbl; 6 per half bbl;
Extra Superfine, lOalO 50; Fancy brands are held
at 12al5 per bbl.
Fisa—The market is abundantly supplied with
Fish o( all kinds except No 1 Mackerel, which
are'-scarce andb but little on ths market. We
give aa the quotations for No 1 in kits, $8a3 26,
No 2, 2 75a2 90; No 8, 2tf0a2 75; half bbls No l 5
10 60; No 2, 9; No 8, 8. Cod Fish-plenty at 11a
12c per lb.
FaurrS'-Tbe stock of Dried Fruit ia good,
with but little present demand. We quote

supplied with Timber and Lumber, for which
there is put little demand at present. Yellow

Limb—The stock on sale is auite light, and a
