■Cirried on in all its various branches, with neatness
I tri despatch. L. FITCH & CO.
W ILL commence on Wednesday the first day of
nest October, and will continue from day to
day with the exception of the first Monday nnd Tuei-
day of that month. We shall then expose to sale in
MaCon. to the highest bidder, in conformity with a
late act of the General Assembly:
All the Town Lots not heretofore dbposedof; being
upwards of one hundred in Humbert un the western
side of the river: among them are twelve adjoining
the river, and a few other tnoice lots for business.
The residue are in more retired situations, and gener
ally afford good building sites in a pleasant and grow
ing part of the town.
Forty two gardening lots of 10 and 20 acres each;
laid out from 1 to I 1-2 miles distant from the town in
two ranges around the Western Common. Also, 28
lots on the Eastern side: that is to say, 4 of twenty, 8
of ten acres, and 10 of one acre each.— 1 These last in
clude the place sometimes known as Newtown; un d
will lie sold subject to certain leases from the United
States, to expire next January. *
The residuo of the lands in the two reserves, are
laid out in tracts of 100 acres, and fractional' parts of
such tracts. Of these, the upland) will be next offer
ed : the lowest numbers first; beginning with those on
the western sjde.
On Wednesday the 22d of October next, at 11 o’
clock. A. M. will he offered at the place of the other
•ales, the
BRIDGE AT XffACO?r v
together with one acre of land on the eastern side of
the Ocmutgee river, as one of the hutments; and the
privilege of using so mnch of Fifth or Bridge street on
the western bank as may be necessary for the other
hutment of the Bridge.
On Thursday the 23d of October, we shall proceed
to sell the swamp and bottom lands within the Re
serves, those on the western side first; and continue
from day to day until completed.
The particular numbers that will be sold on each
day cannot be specified; but it is intended to put up
the several kinds and descriptions in the order here
mentioned,
The Reserves are generally well watered and con
tain several good mill seats. ' The area of the whole
cannot ho exactly known until the platting is comple
ted; but twenty-one thousand acret is the estimated
quantity contained in both Reserves and the adjoining
fractions exclusive of the town surveys. Perhaps no
body of land of the same extent can be found that em
braces a greater variety in its surface, soil aud timber.
Situated just in that region where the pine of the low
er country changes to the oak and hickory of the up
per; it includes both these growths and soils in most
if their varieties; in some portion entire, in others in
terspersed or blende . 1 - Tracts of very hilly land, or
(h it which Is quite level, or geDtly undulating, may
ha had of almost every quality; either of oak and hick
ory, orpine, or river lands; and several of these kinds
occasionally united, in tracts of 100 acres, and frac
tions of various sizes, adapted to most of the purposes
for which land is wanted.
From the pressure of the times; and more especial-
from the quantity of lands and town lots that will
have been lately in the market, Jthese must unavoida
bly tell low. And lying at the head of navigation, im
mediately around the third town of the State in pop
ulation and trade, there is every reasonable prospect
of their soon rising in value.
Purchasers have now on opportunity, nnd apparent
ly tho last that will soon offer, of obtaining on cheap
nnd very Indulgent terms of payment, choice situa
tions for residence, for trade or for farming.'
TERMS OF SALE.
Purchasers of lauds and lots are to pay the Commix
sinners on the day of the purchase, one fifth part of
tile purchase money in Cash or current bills of charter
ed banks of this State'; and the residue in four equal
annual instalments. No security will be required.
The bridge will be sold on the same terms; except
that the purchaser will be required to give bond with
two or more approved securities lor the payment of
the lour subsequent annual instalments.
