following resolutions ivhichwere received
read, and unanimquslv adoptcd, and
ordered to be published. —
WHEREAS the people of these
Provinces e’er yet they hud broken
asunder the tie which u iiitcd them to
the British Government, and assumed
to themselves a separate and indepen
dent rank among the Nations of the
Earth, even in the very infancy of their
existence, destitute of resources for
War, without men, without metey,
‘without arms, without ammunition, ik

ders;’ regardless of these great Sc ardu
ous difficulties, mindful only of the in

principles of Justice, by which men,
whether individually or collectively,

their intercourse with foreign nations,
have uniformly pursued u conduct

therto satisfactory to those with whom
they have been connected.
Nevertheless, the Government cf

ties of reciprocity which a wbe nation

Resolved, That from l< is moment
every Citizen of Savannah considers
himself entirely at the disposal of the
Government, prepared to submit to
every privation—to encounter every
toil—to brave every danger—and,
with alacrity, to perform every duty
which the Government shall enjoin
Resolved, That until the pleasure of
the General Government be known,
the Citizens of Savannah will hold no
communication with the British ships
cl war within our waters, and on our
coasts, and that they will brand with
infamy, every person detected in vio
lating this resolution.
Resolved, That a Committee be ap
pointed to correspond with the Inhab -
itants of the Eastern Counties, to an
nounce to them the measures udop’ and
by us, and to recommend their con
currence therein.
Resolved, That these resolutions be
extended to all British armed vessels
which may hereafter come within our
waters, untii complete satisfaction is
made to the Government for this un
principled on tra ge.
Resolved, That the Chairman be
authorized to purchase an American
Ensign, and to cause the same to be
transmit r< and to the keeper est he Light
house, i t order to carry into effect our
resolution of the 7th instant relatively
to a concerted signal.
Resolved, That the Commissioned

ifh nation, wb.ich may arrive on this'eoaft.
