A Certain Cure for Sick Ilcad-
Aclie.
W HICH has been used in families, every
member of which has Imd sick headache
from infancy,as a constitutional family complaint,
and has cured effectually in every instance yet
known, amounting to muny hundreds. It is not
unpleasant to the taste, and does not prevent the
daily avocations of one using it; it must he perse
vered in, uud the cure is gruduul, but certain and
permanent. Instances nro constantly multiply
ing where this distressing complaint is complete
ly relieved aud cured, although of years standing,
by the use of Dr. Spohn’s eelebruted remedy.
One decided preference is its pleasantness, hav
ing none of tlio nauseating effects of common
drugs.
In all dyspeptic symtoms, coslivcness, irregu
larity, distress after meals, paiusinthc side and
torpidity of the live^, the cure is perfect, andnny
one so afflicted will become immediately convin
ced on using it, that ho has at last found a ‘‘sover-
eign balm forhis wounds,” Females are particu
larly recommended to use it for costiveness or ir
regularity, and other female complaints. It is
E roved to correct vitiated and disordered humors
eeping the stomach in most perfect order. Those
persons who ufter an evenings indulgence at par
ties, &c. have headache and dullness the next
day, will find this a sure preventive if taken at
bedtime. For all common complaints, in a few
days its virtues will be self-evident, and acomplete
euro will soon be effected. When a person has
a cold and feels unwell, generally a free use of it
for a few days will be sure to relieve without
physic or pills. To children it may be given with
the greatest advantage..
In all acidity or sourness ofstoniach this remedy
is sovereign and invaluable; as a general funnly
medicine it is now adopted by muny of the most
respectable fumiles. It never sickens the stomach
or produces any oftlio unpleasant effects ofphyaic.

Ilenr’s yGeniiine Calcined Mag
nesia,
I S highly beneficinl in all diseases of the stom
ach and bowels which are attended with acid
ity, and gives immediate relief to the *»enrtburn.
The effects of excess in eating or drinking are
generally relieved by \t, and it affords one of the
mildest and most pleasant aperients, especially
to persons who, from a sedentary life or other
causes, are under the frequent necessity ofhnv-
ing recourse to laxatives. To persons of n bil
ious or n gouty hnbit, it may bo recommended
with peculiar propriety: nnd its virtues have been
repeatedly testified in the diseases of warm cli
mates Many of the complaints of children, in
early infancy, and even at move advanced peri
ods, nre attended with acidity; and in such cases,
the Calcined Magnesia has a great advantage
over other absorbents, viz: that it both neutrali
zes the acid in the alimentary canal, and acts as
an efficacious yfet gentle purgative.

medicine just received. For sale by

fatal disorders in the bowels of infunts, which

under the age of two years. It is also equally
efficacious in gouty pains in the intestines, the
bloody flux, and the most rackingoolics in grown
persons, nnd it is peculiarly serviceable in those
fluxes and disorders of the. bowels which seamen
aro subject to. It may not be improper to add,
that those children who have been used to this
medicine are scarcely ever afflicted with worms.

i Unrivalled and Unequalled!!
C ELEBRATED for curing pains, or weakness
in the breast, sido, back or limbs; uIho, for
goat, rheumatism, liver complaint and dyspepsia.
In coughs, colds, asthmas, difficulty of breathing,
oppression ofthe stomach, &c. they will give im
mediate nnd soothing relief; and, for ncutueas,
pleasantness, safety, ease and certainty, ure deci
dedly superior to other remedies. Persons whoso,
business or avocations require that they should
sit or stand much, or those of sedentary habits
generally, who may be troubled with pains in the
side or breast, nre advised to try one of these
benutifulnnd uurivulled plasters. They are dif-
ferentfrom others, nnd free from objections which
are genernliy made against plasters. Perhaps
there is no medical observation better established
than that “ Consumption originates in neglected
Colds.” Iuaclimnte so variable as ours, it re
quires more enre nnd attention to guard against
the attacks of tins too often fatal disease, than
most persons are able nnd willing to bestow. It
cannot therefore but bo a gratification to tho sub

Rose Ointment,
F OR Tetter, Ringworms, Pimples on tho
Face, and other entnneons eruptions. Tet
ters, Ringworms, and herpetic eruptions gener
ally, are among the most tedious nnu disugreenble
aflcctions to which tho human frame is liable.
Situated as it were, on the verge of vitality it is
almost impossible to reach them by inward reme
dies. Hence tho inefficacy of undergoing a course
of medicine, or subjecting ourselves to the un-
otmifortuble system of strict diet: such means by
reducing the system merely palliate the symptoms
while they are in practice, to recur as violently,
or more so, when a generous diet is returned to.
And the generality of external npplicatioushnve
no other effect than the disease in one place, soon
to show itselfin the same nrnnother part. When
all those means hnve failed, and in many severe
cases, a perservnnce for a short time in the use of
the Rose Ointment has proved effectual. There
is no trouble in using (applying it every night.)

Row mid's Tonic mixture, or
Vegetable Febrifuge,
A specific and lusting cure for Fever and Ague.
T HIS worthy remedy earnestly repels the slur
of being a quack medicine, it having been
the result of many yours study, experience nnd
labor, iir the tnedicnl practice and observation of
Fever and Ague. It is composed of such medi
cinal principles as were considered most fit to re
store the harmony ofaction between the stomach,
liver, nnd the other important functions of the
system, the loss of which Imrmony is evidently the
immediate cause of the disease. It speedily pro
motes a regular nnd healthy appetite which is
generally entirely destroyed or rendered very
precarious; by which effect, vigor nnd strength is
soon afforded to the whole system. It must be
apparent to all. that a medicine possessing these
peculiar virtues, is useful in a great variety of
complaints. By renewing the healthy action of
the digestive organs, it has proved itself of ro-
markabln benefit in dyspepsia, depraved appetite,
hbart-burn, water brush, flatulency, jaundice,
night sweats, dysentery, bowel complaints, and
all other affections of similar origin, but it is in
tho treatment of Fevers, nnd especially in F.ever
and Aguo, or Remittent Fever, that its powers
have been principally tested, and with those who
havo seen its usefulness, it is prdnouuced sover
eign to nil remedies heretofore discovered fo
those diseases. It has also been used as a pre
ventive, by many who were subject to n periodi
cal recurrence of the chills nml lover, nnd it has
always warded off the apprehended nttnek. It
was deemed not improper to accompany tho
vegetable febrifuge with a few of tho many une
quivocal certificates politely furnished to the pro
prietor,corrohorativo ofthe foregoing statements.
For further accounts of its great usefulness, see
pamphlets accompanying each bottle.

The inestimable value ofthis celebrated medicine

The Proprietor is daily receiving the most flatter

ing to say this is emphatically the medicine of tho
people! Itis used by the Medical Faculty; ■aft-
ported by tiie Clergy, ndvoented by the whole

our citizens.
It may be taken without the least fear of dan

the consequent popularity. It has obtained among
thoso persons, who by experience are best quail

entertained of its virtues by physicians; the con
sequent recommendation it receives from tlio
Medical Faculty—speak cogently and unequivo

WHITE & BARTELS.-
Gelatine Capsules of Pure Co-
paiva Balm.
T HE Copaviiv Balm is, of all the medicines
employed in combating the chronical nnd
acute gonorrhaial affections, also the blennorham
culled whites; tho only one, the specific action of
which bus never been doubted, nnd to whiph
physicians havo in cousequence given tho prefer
ence; but its nauseous tuste aud smell are the
causes of its being rejected hy many patients.
This is the reqaou why so many experiments
have been made m order to discover some mode
of disguising its taste, so tlmt it might be taken
with less repugnance; but hitherto this has been
but imperfectly effected, and always by addition
of some active substance which modifies its pro
perties, nnd thus destroys its chemical constitu
tion and its physical character. I therefore oiler
a modo of administering it in such n state that it
cannot occasion tlio slightest ronuguanco, and
this without submitting it to any alteration. My
mpthod consists in euejosing it in the Gelatiue
Capsules.
