Dr. JjiMifiivis* Aromatic Vege
table Bitters,
For Jaundice, Indigestion, Weak Stomach, Ac.
T HESE BiUeranre composed of vegetables
of the most innocent, yet specific virtues,
and have been highly extolled by thousands who
have experienced theirefficocy in the above nam
ed complaints. They are in fact the best sto
machic and corrective the vegetable kingdom fur
nishes. They are highly useful as a preventive
against fever, and are very serviceable at all sea
sons ofthe year, mare particularly in the spring
and summer moaths, when persons of bilious
hnbits experience that total loss of appotite, disa
greenblo listlessneisnnd relaxation ofthe system.
They strengthen tho stomach, procure n good ap
petite, prmnoto digestion, purify the blood, and
restore the invalid to his original strength and
vigor. Most of the Ritters with which the mar
ket is now supplied are nothing more tlmn cheap
groggy preparations, mid nt a high price, and
bought mainly for thoir intoxicating properties.
These Bitters are superior to any thutore, or
ever have been offered to tlio public. Being
pumrenlly aromatic, they are particularly recom
mended to eenfaring persons ns an antidote a-
gainst the Scurvy. Persons laboring under the
infirmities of old age, will find these Bitters to
prove a wholesome, agreunble and invigorating
sjnmachic cordial, increasing the appetite and as
sisting digestion in a remarkable degroo, removing
those low spirited and trembling sensutions, the
sure effect of a want of tone in the system. They
are peculiarly adapted to those who ore troubled
with Diarhma, or Weakness of the Bowels, Ac.
prevalent in the summer and autumnal mouths.
They will be found in all cases of the following
description to give relief, viz: Jaundice, Weak
Stomach. Costiveness, Excessive Weariness,
Loss of Appetite, Dullness and Oppression, a
propensity to Sieep, Bitter Taste in tho Mouth,
Loathing of Food. Sicknessnt the Stomach,Gen

^OR Totter, Ringworms, Pimples on the
Face, and other cutaneous eruptions. Tet
ters, Ringworms, and herpetic eruptions gener
ally, are among the most tedious and disngreenble
nfiections to which tho human frame is liable.
Situnt&d us it were, on the verge of vitality it is
almost impossible to reach them by inward reme
dies. Hence the inefiicacy of undergoing a course
of medicine, or subjecting ourselves to the un
comfortable system of strict diet: such means by
reducing the system merely palliate the symptoms
while they »:e in practice, to recur as violently,
or more so. when a generous diet is returned to.
And the generality of external applicationshnve
no other elfoct than the disease iu one place, soon
to show itsuifin the same oranotlier part. When
all those means have failed, and in many severe
cases, a perservance for ashorttiine in the use of

ISowaml’s Tonic Mixture* or
Vegetable Febrifuge,
A specific nnd lasting cure for Fever and Ague.
T HIS worthy remedy earnestly repels tlio slur
of being a quack medicine, it having been
the result of many years study, experience and
labor, in the medical practice aud observation of
Fever aud Ague# It is composed of such medi
cinal principles ns were considered most fit to re
store die harmony ofuction between the stomach,
liver, and tho oilier important functions of tho
system, the loss of which harmony is evidently the
immediate cause of tho disease. It speedily pro
motes a regular and healthy appetite which is
generally entirely destroyed or rendered very
precarious; by which effect, vigor nud strength is
soon afforded to tho whole system. It must bo
apparent to all. that a medicine possessing these
peculiar virtues, is useful in a groat vnriety of
complaints. By renewing the healthy action of
the digestive organs, it has proved itself of re
markable benefit in dyspepsin, depraved appetite,
henrt-bnrn, water brash, flatulency, jaundice,
night sweats, dysentery, bowel complaints, and
all other affections of similar origin, but it is in
the treatment of Fevers, nnd especially in Fever

JL employed in combating the chronical and
acute gonorrhoeal affections, also the blennorhcea
called whiten; the only one, tho specific action of
which has never been doubted, nnd Vo which
physicinns have in couscqnence given the prefer
ence; but its nauseous tante nud smell are the
causes of its being rejected hy many patients.
This is the reason why ao many experiments
have heen made in order to discover some mode
of disguising its taste, so that it might be taken
with less repugnance; but hitherto this hns been
but imperfectly effected, and always by addition
of some active’substaiice which modifies its pro
perties, and thus destroys its chemical constitu
tion and its physical character. 1 I therefore offer
a mode of administering it in such a state that it
cannot occasion the slightest repugnance, nnd
this without submitting it to any alteration. My
method consists in enclosing it in the Gelatine
Capsules.
