A Certain Cure for Sick llead-
Aelie*
W HICH hns been used in families, every
member of which has had sick hendncho
from infancy,as n constitutional family complaint,
and has cured effectually in every mstnuco yot
known, amounting to many hundreds. It is not
unnleosant to the taste, nnd dons not prevent the
daily avocations ofone using it: it must bo perse
vered in, and tho cure is gradual, but cartain nnd
permanent. Instances are constantly multiply
ing whore this distressing complaint fscompletc-
ly relieved nnd cured, although of yenr* standing,
by the use of Dr. Spolm’s celebrated remedy.
One decided preference is Its pleasantness, hav
ing none of the nauseating effects of common
drugs.
In all dyspeptic symtoms, costiveness, irregu
larity, distress afier* meals, pains in the side and
torpidity oftho liver, the cure is perfect, nnd any
one so afflicted will become immediately convin
ced on using it, that he has at Inst found a “sover
eign bulin for his wounds." Feiualcs are particu
larly recommended to use it for coxtiveness or ir
regularity, nnd other female complaints. It is
proved to correct vitiated nnd disordered humors
Keeping thdTftdmnch in most perfect order. Those
persons who attor an evenings indulgence at par
ties, Arc. have headache und dullness the next
day, will find this a sure preventive if taken nt
bedtime. For oil common complaints, inn few
days its virtues will he self-eviclHiii, and a complete
cure will soon be effected. When a person has
a cold nnd feels unwell, generally a free use of it
for a'few days will ho suro to relieve without
physic or pills. To clujdren it may be given with
the greatest advantage .
In all acidity or sourness of stomach this remedy
is sovereign nnd invaluable; as a general family
medicine it is now adopted by many of the most
respectable familes. It uever sickens the stomach
or produces any oftheunpleo^anteffects ofphysic.

nesia, _
I S highly beneficial in all diseases oftho stom
ach nnd bowels which arc attended with acid
ity, and gives immediate relief to the t*enrtburn.
The effects of excess in eating or drinking ore
generally relieved by it, and it affords one of the
mildest lind most pfensant aperients, especially
to persons who, from a sedentary life or other
causes, ore under the frequent necessity of hav
ing recourse to laxatives. To person? of a bil
ious or a gouty habit, it may be recommended
with peculiar propriety*, nnd its virtues have been
repeatedly testified in the diseases of warm cli
mates Many of the complaints of children, in
early infancy, and even at more advanced peri
ods, are attended with acidity; and in such cases,
the Calcined Magnesia has a great advantage
over other absorbents, viz: that it both neutrali
zes the acid in the alimentary canal, and acts as
an efficacious yet gentle purgative.

T HESE Bitters are composed of vegetables
of the most innocent, yet specific virtues,

hubits experience tliut total loss of appetite, disn
greeuhle listlessness and relaxation oftho system.
They strengthen the stomach, procure n good up-
petite, promote digestion, purify the blood, and
restore the iavulid to his original strength nnd
vigor. Most oftho Bitters with which the mar
ket is now supplied are nothing more than cheap
groggy preparniiqjiBi sold at a high price, and
bought mainly for their intoxicating properties.
These Bitters are superior to any that are, or
ever have been offered to the public. Being
pungenlly nromntic, they are particularly recom
mended to seafaring persons as an antidote n-
gainst the Scurvy. Persons laboring under the
infirmities of old age, will find these Bitters to
prove a wholesome, agreeable nnd invigorating
stomachic cordial, increasing tho appetite and as
sisting digestion in a remarkable degree, removing
those low spirited and trembling sensations, the
sure effect of a want of tone in the system. They

ally, aro among the most tedious and disagreeable
affections to which the human frame is liable.
Situated ns it were, on the verge of vitality it is

Caution.
T HE high reputation which Frauds Kidder’*
Indelible Ink hns sustained for 16 or SD
•years, has caused several imitations of the article'
to be offered for sale as “Kidder's Indelible Ink." 1
They resemble the genuine ink in their exterior
appearance, nnd as some ofthein bears the name
of Kidder, the public have been grossly deceiv
ed. To guard against this deception, pnrehaser#
will please be particular to ask for Francis Kid*
der's Ink, and observe that his name is on the top
nnd front of the box.
This ink cannot be effaced; but is warranted to
ren*ain perfectly indelible for ages, if tho direc
tions are followed in using it.

Rowand’s Tonic Mixture, or
Vegetable Febrifuge,
A specific nnd lasting cure for Fever and Ague.
T HIS worthy remedy earnestly repels the slur
of being a quack medicine, it having been
the result of many years study, experience nnd
labor, in the medical practice nud observation of
Fever und Ague. It is composed of such roedi-
ciuui principles as were considered most fit to re
store ihehnrmnny of action between the stomach,
liver, and the other important functions of tho
system, the loss of which harmony is evidently the
immediate cause of the disease. It speedily pro
motes n regular nnd healthy appetite which is
generally entirely destroyed, or rendered very
precarious; by which effect, vigor nnd strength is
soon afforded to the whole system. It must be
apparent to all. that a medicine possessing these
peculiar virtues, is useful in n great variety of
complaints. By renewing the healthy action of
the digestive organs, it has proved itself of re-
markable benefit in dyspepsia, depraved appetite,
heart-burn, water brash, flatulency, jaundice,
night sweats, dysentery, bowel complaints* and
all other affections of similar origin, but it is in
the treatment of Fevers, and especially in Fever
andAguo.or Remittent Fever, that its powers
have been principally tested, nnd with those who
have seen its usefulness, it is pronounced sover
eign to all remedies heretofore discovered fo
those diseases. It has also been used as a pre
ventive, by many who were subject to n periodi
cal recurrence of the chills nnd fever, nnd it hns
always warded off tho apprehended attack. It
was deemed dot improper to accompany the
vegetable febrifligiBjyith a few of tho many une
quivocal certificatesqioliiely furnished to the pro
prietor, corroborative ofthe foregoing statements.
For further accounts of its great usefulness, see
pamphlet* accompanying enoh bottle.

physicians have in consequence given the prefer
ence; but ks nauseous taste nud smell are the
causes of its being rejected by many patients.
This U the reason why so many experiments
have been nindo in order to discover some mode
of disguising its taste, so that it might be taken
with less repugnance; but hitherto this has been
but imperfectly Affected. *md always hy addition
of some active substance which modifies its pro
perties, and thus destroys its chemical constitu
tion aud its physical character. I therefore offer
« mode of administering it in such a state that it
cannot occasion the slightest repugnance, and
this without submitting it to any alteration. My
method cousists in enclosing it in the Gelatine
Capsules.
