sA# Carnochan and Peter Mitchell of this city
have by sundry deeds recently mortgaged and
assigned to divers persons either their indivi
dual creditors, creditors of the late firm of Car
noehau & Mitchell, or others, all or sundry the
property and estate, both real and personal, of
the said firm, as well as their own individual
property and estate, consisting together of
houses, lots. lands, stores, wharves, negroes, £*c
in Savannah and Darien in Georgia, or the neigh
borhood thereof, and elsewhere with their in
terest or share in the stock of the lower steam
miO near Darien, and sundry shares in the U. S
Rank and other banks, as well as sundr debts
due to them in various places, besides lands,
lots, negroes, &c. in the territory of Florida,
and .particularly otie large tract of land bought
of Forbes .& Cos. lying between the rivers St,
I Marks and Vppalachicola in the territory of
Flo ida aforesaid.
These arc hereby to Caution the public against
purchasing any pait of the said property or es
tate so conveyed, or any property belonging to
the said Carnochan y Mitchell,or either of them,
as I hold prior mortgages on the greatest part

undoubtedly claims against th m, which, when
finally liquidated on the decision of the suit now
pending, they will try to satisfy as socn as possi
ble thereafter. . ...
The deeds under which Mr. Christie claims an
exclusive right to all the real and personal es
tate of Cornnchan & Mitchell, are considered as
informal, unjust and illegal. Hence they have
been brought and are still before the court, and
other deeds have been executed and recorder.,
conveying the property for the use of all their
creditors, Mr. Christie included, without any
trust or reservation beneficial to C. & M or their
families, and if this be not agreeable to'hat
gentleman, it must nevertheless appear fair and
equitable to the public and all who have a sense
of justice.
The Trustees under the late deeds are anx ion
to Sell the lands in Florida, alluded to in the no
tice of Mr. Christie, and to apply the procceds
to the immediate payment ol part of his de.
niand, and deposit a sufficiency thereot tocoverj
all his claim, subject to the decision of the courts
but his opposition to any reasonable sale, as
one interested in his own right, whilst injuring
all parties concerned, must be borne until a sale
can be made under an order of court.

and tenor described below, were placed in the
post-office at Philadelphia on the evening of the
13th December, 1820, iticloscd in a letter by .1.
S. & G Hobson, to Joshua Milne at Savannah hi
Georgia, which letter was never received; and
as the entire mail of the 14 ii Dec. from Phila
delphia to Savannah miscarried, the belief is
that the said letter and notes were stolen or
robbed from the mail. Application having been

ment of the whole of said notes, all persons
