in Savannah, he lent Samuel Stirk, now
deceased, Three hundred pounds in Cajh, for which
he took said S-irk’s Note, payable the i.ft of
January following (with interest from the date.)
That fome time in 1788, on his pafiage from
St. Catharine’s to Suhbury, in a boat, he 101 l hia
Pocket Bonk, with rr.anv -Notes and Papers,
overboard, amongst which papers, was the
identical,Note above Hated ; which ‘vote has
never been iince found or heard of, nor is it
pomble it ever fnould, as it was, dropt in the
River or Sound.
