COLUMBUS WEEKLY SUN.
T. W. .LANE AND T. DE WOLE,
EDITORS.
THE DAILY SUN being now established on n basis,
broad enough and strong enough, to secure its per
manence, we have determined to carry out our long
cherished intention, the establishment of a
WEEKLY PAPER.
THE WEEKLY SUN, will be made up from the choic
est mat ter of our daily; like it, will maintain a strict
neutrality as to party and creed; and like it, will contain
all the latest and most interesting uews received, up to
the hour of going to press.
On the first of September next, we shall have in suc
cessful operation, liberal
TELEGRAPHIC ARRANGEMENTS,
which will enable us to lay before our readers the very
latest news, Foreign and Domestic, Commercial. Politi
cal and Miscellaneous, Wo might enlarge at great
length, upon our intentions; but preferring performance
to promises, we shall endeavor to have the “ SUN ” make
it,, own way exclusively upon sucli merit as it may be
found to possess.
lief, ire embarking in this project, which will he an ex
pensive and laborious one, we desire to have some guar
anty of its success. We therefore invite subscriptions
and invoke the aid of our friends; and so soon as
ONE THOUSAND
reliable names shall be procured, the first number will
be issued and promptly mailed. Then, but not till then,
payment will be expected of all subscribers.
We shall adhere strictly to the advance CASH SYS
TEM, not only for our own, but our readers’ good. Eve
ry reader is interested iu this system; for it is the only
one by which a journal can be successfully established,
and its interest and usefulness maintained.
The Weekly Sun will be a large and handsome sheet,
printed on good paper, and containing a larger amount of
reading matter, adapted both to specific and general
want- and tastes, than any paper in Western Georgia, or
the State of Alabama. Advertisements will not be al
lowed to encroach upon our reading matter, except to a
very limited extent.
Sibsoription Price, $2.50 per annum, invariably iu ad
vance.
Liberal inducements are offered to Postmasters and
Agents, who will interest themselves to increase our
circulation —inducements that will enable men of ener
gy to reap real benefit from tlieir efforts in our behalf
Upon this point full particulars may be obtained by ad
dressing THOMAS DEWOLE.
The Hair.
In to-day’s paper will be found an advertise
ment of Prof. 0. J. Wood’s renowned Hair lte
storutive. The statements contained in the
letters of those who have used it, are wonder
full but no less wonderful than true. This
Restorative has not been long before the pub
lieibut it has already achieved a world wide
reputation, and thousands daily thank the dis
coverer. Read the advertisement, and go
straightway and supply yourself.—Glasgow
Time;.

Messrs. O. J. WOOD A CO.:
Gents—Yours of tho 13th came duly to hand. En
closed, please find thirty-eight dollars, it being tlie
amount tor Hair Restorative. 1 have sold it all. * *
If you choose, you may send six dozen bottles Hair Res
torative; I think 1 can sell it. It has worked miracles
iu this place. 1 sold a man six $1 bottles, that was bald,
aud it fetched new hair out all over his head.
Yours, respectfully, M. H. GRIDLEY
C. It. R. Omc, Vandalia, June 21,1864.
PROFESSOR WOOD—
Dear Sir —I take pleasure in bearing voluntary tes
timony to the excellence of your Hair Restorative. Three
months ago my lmir was very gray, it is now a dark
brown, (the original color,) smooth and glossy. The only
application 1 have made to it, Ims been tlie Hair Resto
rative prepared hy you, and which, from the result in
my own ease, 1 can most cordially recommend to others.
Respectfully, yours, EDW. WOLCOTT.
Vincennes, la., June 21,1853.
PROF. O. J. WOOD—
As you are about to manufacture and vend your re
cently discovered Hair Restorative, 1 will state, for
whomsoever it may concern, that 1 have used it. and
known others to use it—tligf 1 have, for several years,
been in tin- habit of using ether l’air Restoratives, and
that 1 find yours vastly superior to any other I know.
It entirely cleanses the head of dandruff, and with one
month’s proper use. will restore liny person’s hair to the
original youthful color and texture, giving it a healthy,
soft end glossy appearance; and ail this, without discol
oring tho hands that apply it, or the dress on which it
drops. 1 would, therefore, recommend Its use to every
one desirous of having a fine color und texture of hair.
Respectfully, yours, WILSON KING.
S'l’. LOUIS, June 29,1853.
l’ltOF. WOOD—
As you are about to prepare and vend your recently
discovered Hair Restorative, and bh you request my opin
ion of it, I will state, that my hair was, a few months
ago, very gray, and after using two bottles of your Hair
Restorative, it resumed its original color; and since its
application, all dandruff has disappeared from my head,
and 1 have been troubled with no disagreeable itching of
the scalp. lam satisfied that those who use it will not
regret it, as it gives the hair tlie appearance of having
been recently oiled, iam prepared, therefore, to reconi
mend its use to all who are desirous of having a beautiful
head of hair. I am, sir, yours, etc.
H. L. STEWART.
PROF. WOOD—
Dear Sir—My hair lmd, for several years, been be
coming prematurely gray, accompanied by a harshness
which iendured the constant application of oil necessary
in dressing it. When 1 commenced using your llair Res
torative, about two months ago. ii was in that condition;
and having continued its use till within the last three
weeks, it lias turned to its nalm .and color, and assumed a
softness and lustre greutly to lie preferred to those pro
duced hy tlie application of oils or any other preparation
i have ever used. 1 regard it as an indispensable article
for every lady’s toilet, whether to be used as u Hair Res
torative". or for the simple purpose of dressing or lsjauti
lying the hair. You have permission to refer to me all
who entertain any doubt of its performing all that is
claimed for it. MRS. C. SYMONDS.

Watertown, Mass., May 1, 1854.
PROF. O. J. WOOD—
Allow me to attest the virtues and magic powers of
youi llair Restorative. Three months since, being ex
ceedingly gray, I purchased, and soon commenced to use,
two bottles; audit soon began to tell, in restoring tlie
silver locks to tlieir native color, and the hair, which was
before dry and harsh and tailing off, now became soft
and and it cease! lulling; the dandruff disap
pear’d, and tin- scalp lost all the disagreeable itching,
so annoying before, and now, 1 Hot only look, hut feel
young again. Respectfully, yours, etc.
