COLUMBUS WEEKLY SUN.
1 T W- LANE AND T. DE WOLF,
EDITORS.
AllE DAILY SUN being now established on a basis,
fclbiul enough and strong enough, to secure its per
manence, we have determined to carry out our long
cbeiished intention, the establishment oi'u
WEEKLY PAPER.
‘fcllE WEEKLY SUN, will be made up from the choic
est matter of our daily; like it, will maintain a strict
neutrality as to party and creed; and like it, will contain
all the latest and most interesting news received, up to
the hour of going to press.
4 a the first of September next, we shall have in suc
ful operation, liberal
Telegraphic arrangements,
wach will enable, us to lay before our readers the very
uJist news, Foreign and Domestic, Commercial, Politi
cal and Miscellaneous. Wo might enlarge at great
length, upon our intentions; but preferring performance
to promises, we shall endeavor to have the “ SUN ” make
itsfown way exclusively upon such merit as it may he
found to possess.
Before embarking in this project, which will be an ex
peUsAe and laborious one, we desire to have some guar
anty of its success. We therefore invite subscriptions j
and invoke the aid of our friends; and so soon as
ONE THOTJS-AJCvriD
reUnhle names shall be procured, the first number will
hel med and promptly mailed. Then, but not till then,
•Bmeut wilt be expected of all subscribers.
I^we'shall adhere strictly to the advance CASH SYS
TEM not only for our own, but our readers’ good. Eve- I
iyp ulor is interested in this system; for it is the only
oni iiv which a journal can he successfully established,
anp its interest and usefulness maintained.
JlJlio Weekly Sun will be a large and handsome sheet,
on good paper, and containing a larger amount of
rMding matter, adapted both to specific and general
wants and tastes, than any paper in Western Georgia,or
thfe State of Alabama. Advertisements will not be al
lowed to encroach upon our reading matter, except to a
vljty limited extent.
Subscription Price, $2.50 per annum, invariably in ad
vance.
inducements are offered to Postmasters and

The Hair.
Hn to-day’s paper will be found an advertise
ment of Prof. O. J. Wood’s renowned Hair Ite
rative. The statements contained in the
letters of those who have used it, are wonder- j
MI. but no less wonderful than true. This
ijkstorative has not been long before the pub-
JH, but it lias already achieved a world wide
JButation, and thousands daily 7 thank the dis
cojverer. Read the advertisement, and go
straightway and supply yourself.—Glasgow
Times.
■lly late tiles of English papers, we sec that
Mr. EdwardStrutt, a noted manufacturer, has
bijen raised to the peerage. This unusual pro
ceeding shows the interest which the Queen
tajkes in the manufacturing pursuits of her
dominions, and also the inroads which time
is I making upon ancient customs and preju
dices.

Tho friction rollers, the spiral spring and tlie lever, bo-

damiruff', itching, or In tlie shape of cutaneous erup
tions—even scald-head—and in no possible case will it

ache, aud if used twice a week by the young, regularly,
it will preservo the color, and keep the hair from falling,
to any imaginable age. Read and Judge.
Looanspout, la., June, 1855.
Messrs. O. J. WOOD & CO.:
Gents—Yours of the 13th came duly to hand. En
closed, please find thirty-eight dollars, it being the
amount for Hair Restorative. 1 have sold it all. * *
If you choose, you limy send six dozen bottles Ilair Res
torative; I think 1 can sell it. It has worked miracles
iu this place. 1 sold a man six $1 bottles, that was bald,
and it fetched new hair out all over Ids head.
Yours, respectfully, M. H. GRIDLEY
C. R. R. Office, Vandalia, June 21,1854.
PROFESSOR WOOD—
Dear Sir—l take pleasure in bearing voluntary tes
timony to the excellence of your Ilair Restorative. Three
months ago my hair was very gray. It is now a dark
brown, (the original color.) smooth and glossy. Tlie only
application 1 have made to it, lias been the Ilair Resto
rative prepared by you, and which, from tlie result in
my own case, 1 can most cordially recommend to others.
Respectfully, yours, EDW. WOLCOTT.
VutCKNKES, la., June 21.1853.
PROF. 0. J. WOOD—
As you arc about to manufacture and vend youi re
cently discovered Ilair Restorative, i will state, for
whomsoever it may concern, that I have used it, and
known others to use it—that 1 have, for several years,
been in tlie habit of using ether Hair Restoratives, and
that I find yours vastly superior to any other 1 know.
It entirely cleanses the head of dandruff, and with one
month's proper use, will restore any person’s hair to the
original youthful Color and texture, giving it a healthy,
soft and glossy appearance; mid ail this, without discol
oring the hands that apply it, or the dress on which It
drops. I would, therefore, recommend its use to every
one desirous of having a hue color and texture of hair.
Respectfully, yours, WILSON KING.
S')’. Louis, June 29; 1853.
I’UOF. WOOD—
As you are about to prepare and vend your recently
discovered Ilair Restorative, and as you reqnest myopia
ion of it, 1 will state, tlmt my hair was, a tew months
ago, very gray, and alter using two bottles of your Ilair
Restorative, it resumed its original color; and since its
application, all dandruff lias disappeared from my bead,
and 1 have been troubled with no disagreeable itching of
the scalp. lam satisfied tlmt. those who use it will not
regret it. as it gives tlie hair tile appeal mice of having
been recently oiled. 1 am prepared, therefore, to recom
mend ils use to all who urt-desirous ofhuving a beautiful
bead of hair. 1 am, sir, yours, etc.
H. L. STEWART.
PROF. WOOD —
Dear Sir—My hair lmd, lor several years, been be
coming prematurely gray, accompanied by a harshness
which tendered tlie constant application of oil necessary
in dressing it. lVhen 1 comment ,| using your Hair Res
torative, about two months ago. e was iu that condition ;
and having continued its use tin within the last three
weeks, it has turned to its natural color, aud assumed a
softness and lustre greatly to be preferred to those pro
duced by tlie application of oils or any oilier piepimition
I have ever used. J regard it as an indispensable article
lor every lady’s toilet, whether to be used us a Ilair Res
torative, or for the simple purpose of dressing or beauti
fying the hair. You have permission to reter to me all
wliu entertain any doubt of its performing all that is
claimed for it. MR.B. O. SYMONDS,

PROF. O. J. WOOD—
Allow me to attest the virtues and magic powers ol
youi lisir iteetonitivc. Three months since, being ex
ceedingly gray, i purchased, ami soon commenced to use,
two bottles: and it soon began to tell, in restoring the
silver locks to tlieir native color, anil tlie hair, which Was
before dry and harsh and lulling off, now became soft
and and it censed falling: the dandrnfl disap
peainl, anil the scalp lost all Ihe diragreealdo itching,
so manning before, and now, I not only look, lint feel
young again. Respectfully, yours, etc.
