As many are in doubts as to the birth place
of J. C. Fremont we are permitted to publish

a resident of this city and county,) to a friend
in this city:
“I went with my friends and

his honor J. C. Fremont first saw daylight.

ache, uml if used twico a week by the young, regularly,
it w ill preserve the color, and keep tlie hair from falllDg,
to any imaginable age. Read and judge.
Loganspobi, la., June, 1856.
Messrs. O. .J. WOOD & CD.:
Gents—Yours of the 18th came duly to hand. En
closed, please find thirty-eight dollars, it heiug the
amount for Hair Restorative. 1 have sold it all. * *
If you choose, yon may send six dozen bottles llair Res
torative; 1 think 1 can sell it. It has Hoiked miracles
in this place. 1 sold a man six $1 bottles, that was bald,
and it letched new hair out all over his head.
Yours, respectfully, 51. li. (i Rib LEY
U. R. It. OFFICK. Vanpaija, June 21,1864.
PROFESSOR WOOD—
Dear Sir—l take pleasure in hearing voluntary tes
timony to the excellence of your Hair Restorative. Three
months ago my hair was very gray. It is now a dark
brown, (the original color,) smooth and glossy. The only
Application I have made to it, lias been the llair Resto
rative prepared by you, and which, from the result in
my own case, 1 can most cordially recommend to others.
Respectfully, yours, l-.DW. WOLCOTT.
VINCK.NNKS, la., June 21, 1853.
PROF. O. J. WOOD—
As you are about to niuiiufuclme and vend your re
cently discovered llair Restorative, , will state, for
whomsoever il may concern, that 1 have used it, and
known others to use it—that I have, lor several years,
been in the habit of using ether llair Restoratives, and
that I find yours vastly superior to any other 1 know.
It entirely cleanses the head of dandruff, and with one
month’s proper use, will restore any person’s hair to the
original youthful color and texture, giving it a healthy,
soli and glossy uppem a nee; and all this, without discol
oring the hands that apply it, or the dress on which it
drops. I would, therefore, recommend its use to every
one desirous ol’ having a tine color and texture of bait'.
Respectfully, yours, WILSON KING.
St. Louis, June 29,1853.
PROF. W OOD—
As you are about to prepare and vend your recently
discovered llair Restorative, uml us you request my opin
ion of it., I will state, that my hair was, a lew mouths
ago, very gray, ami alter using two bottles of your Hair
licsierulivo, it resumed its original color; and since iis
application, all dandruff lias disappeared from my head,
and i have been troubled with no disagreeable itching of
the seal]). lam satisfied that those who use it w ill not
regret it, as it gives the hair the appearance of having
been recently oiled. 1 tun prepared, therefore, to recom
mend its use to all who ate desirous of having a beautiful
bead of hair. 1 am, sir. yours, etc.
11. L. STEWART.
PROF. WOOD—
Dear Sir—My hair had, for several years, been be
coming prematurely gray, accompanied by a harshness
which rendered the constant application of oil necessary
iu dressing il. When I coni Hie i.led using your llair Res
torative, about two months ago. i. v.as in that condition ;
and having continued its use li.i within the last three
weeks, it has turned to its nuli.od roler, and assumed a
softness and lustre greatly to be preft rred to those pro
duced by ilie application of oils or any other preparation
1 have ever used. J regard it as an indispensable article
lbr every lady's toilet, whether to be used as a llair Res
torative, or for the simple purpose of dressing or beauti
fying the hair. You have permission to letvr to me all
who entertain tuiy doubt of its perfotming all that is
claimed for it. 51R8. C. SYMONDB,

PROF. O. J. WOOD—
Allow mu to attest the virtues aud magic powers of
youi llair Restorative. Three months since, being ex
ceedingly gray, I pmi-based, and soon commenced to use,
two hollies; and it soon begun to tell, in restoring tlie
silver locks to tlieir native- color, and the hair, which was
before dry and harsh and falling off, now become soft
and and it censed falling; the dandruff disap
peared. aud the sculp lost all the disagreeable itching,
so annoying before, and now, I not only look, but feel
voting again. Respectfully, yours, etc.
