Bank of Darien , 18 th May , 1819.
Direction having taken under consideration (the
JL whole board present) the expediency of establishing
a Branch of its Bank forthwith in terms of its charter
“at some convenient place contiguous to the Ocmulgee”
came to the determination of taking measures for cann -
ing this part of their powers now into effect. The pe
titions and representations on the subject, which have
been received at Bank, were then taken under consid
eration, and the reasons therein stated in favor of the
several places which have laid claim to the location of
this Branch were duly weighed.
IVhereupon it i.i unanimously resolved, That the town of
Marion, in the county of Twiggs, be fixed upon as the
most suitable place, at present, for the establishment of
a Branch of this Bank —and that the Board will, on
Tuesday, the 13th of July next, proceed to the choice of
five persons to be directors of the same.
