CINO JOURS,

ANTI-BALSAMIC GONORRHtEAL SOLUTION,
Warranted to cure in Five Days. e
T-HIS incomnarable and invaluable remedy so
lorn: known, and used with such unparralleled
success ia the Canadas for the last 30 yeats, ap
pears to 1 eed no panegyric. Its operation upon the
human svstem is such that it invariably’acts like
a charm, for the relief and radical cure of a certain
common and disagreeable “ills the flesh is heir to.
This prize obtains its own name from the certain
success which has attended it thiough its
trying circumstances, namely, “five days, ~the
same success which follow’ed it in a Northern lati
tude still obtains in a more Southern. Ihe formula
! or recipe was obtained at great expense, intrigue
1 and hazard by M Cue ceres, from the celebrated
i Indian Chief Wabenothe, or Great Moon, whilst
he with others was pursuing the lucrative Fur bu
siness if the North-west with the Indians.—
Wabenoshe prized highly and use it w’ith invariable
1 success throughout his tw o tribes. Us known and
i valuer! virtues have already enriched to an a'most
incredible extent the chi'dren of this warlike piince,
nor only bv actual sale of the article itself to in
dividuals, but by parting with copies of his receipt
at enormous prices to the Chief of every tribe of
Indians in America, with a solemn promise to the
Great Spirit, never to divulge the ‘art of its com
position until he sleeps with his fathers,” although
free to use it in their respective tribes, which
places it in the hands of every Indian who rely
with, I may say, religious confidence on its cura
ble powers.
Below is a copy of the translation a* near as it can
be anglis zed of the deed given by Wabenoshe, to
M.Cheveret, when he purchased the original recipe,
and had twice assisted the Chief himself through
the tedious manipulatory process of manufacture.
Few w’hiie men would credit the length of time
which is consumed in preparing the article for im
mediate use.

TO THIS FACULTY AND HEADS OF
FAMILIES.
DR. MILES’ COMPOUND EXTRACT OF
TOMATO —a substitute for Calomel, and
does not belong to the family of quack medicines;
I for the reason that the component parts are made
knowm to the faculty, or any one else that may
! wish to krow, by any of the agents keeping them
for sale. Since this discovery so long and anx
iously looked for, some one in almost the extreme
North ha;; advertised a Tomato Pill, purportingto
be made from the stalk, a thing not more aosuiu
than for one to offer meal from the corn stalk, to
say nothing of the difficulty of raising the Tomato
so far Nortir.
Dr. Miles, of Cincinnati, is the proprietor of the
Tomato Pills (proper) for the great benefits of
w hich, he aolds himself bound, and in honor pledg
ed to prove by their use, that they are all that they
profess to De, and will do for others what they
have done for such as mav have used them ; is
this is a vegetable of great use, and value, it will
doubtless be valuable information to families to
j know that die Y'ellow are just doubly as valuable
! as the Red Tomato, and produces twice as much
of the haprtine, or active principle, and when used
as a daily vegetable will be found to keep the
' system in much better condition than the other
kind ; many w ill recollect with what trembling
; anxiety calomel has been given to children, and
' how they then wished for a substitute. It has
| long been known that the Tomato contained ca
thartic principles, but not until of late was it
ascertained that they contained alterative and diu
retic properties. The Faculty embrace and use
the preparation most cheerfully, for the reason that
they know what it is Were it a patent mystery,
they would be bound to reject the medicine, as they
justly do tlie one thousand and one cure-alls of the
day. If you wish to cleanse the system with a
mild, sa.e i nti-bilious medicine, use the Tomato
Pill, of which a supply, w T e learn, will soon be in

Radical Cure ol Hernia or Rupture, by Dr.
Chase’s Improved Surgeons’ Trusses.
FINHE subscriber has opened an office, at the Drug
JL stoie Df Messrs. J. J. Robertson &Co., for the
treatment of Hernia or Rupture, by means of these
ustly celebrated instruments. He has now used
them for nearly a year, and, did not delicacy forbid,
he could name several persons who have been radi
cally cured, of this truly distressing and dangerous
affection, by the use of these Trusses, besides riSanv
others who ire in a fair way’ of being entirely re
lieved. The following is the language of the com
mittee ol the Philadelphia Medical Society on the
Radical Cute of Hernia.
“ The instruments of Dr. Chase have effected
the permanent and accurate retention of the in
testines in every case of Hernia observed by’ the
committee, without material inconvenience to the
patient, and often under trials more severe than
I are usually ventured upon by those who wearother
trusses; trb.ls that wmuld be imprudent with any
other apparatus known to the committee.”
“ The committee are induced by the foregoing
conclusions 10 recommend, in strong terms, the in
struments of Dr. Chase to the confidence of
the profession, as the best known means of me
chanical retention !n hernia, and as furnishing the
highest chances of radical cure.”
The fol owing is from the Southern Medical and
Southern Journal, published in our own city’.
“ All must admit of the radical cure of hernia,
and that Dr. Trusses are decidedly the best
y-et invented to effect the object.”
Persons from a distance can have the instruments
applied, upon application at the office, and all ne
cessary information given to enable them to adjus(
it themselve;. The poor, who are laboring under
this afflicting complaint, will be treated gratuitous
ly upon presenting a certificate, from someresponsi
ble person,of their pecuniary’ disability.
The instruments are of all sizes, and applicable
to every variety of reducible rupture.

HEADACHE, SICK OR NERVOUS.
The extraordinary reputation that Dr. Spohn’s
remedy for this distressing eompaint is every day
gaining is certainly a matter of much astonishment,
That so m :ch suffering should have existed for ages
without any discovery of an effectual preventive, or
cure, is truly a subject of much regret but Dr. S.
now assures the public that such a remedy has been
invented as will convince lhe most credulous. The
principles on which it acts arc simple and plain. It is
an a nulled fact Chat this complaint, w hether called
6ick Headache, or Nervous Headache, arises prim
arily from the stomach —those who think they have
the Nervous Headache may rest assured lhat this
organ, the stomach, is the first cause, lhat th> sys
tem has become vitiated or debilitated, tlnough the
stomach, and lhat only through the same channel
must they expects restoration of the natural and
healthy functions of the system. This object. Dr.
Spolm’s remedy is eminently calculated to attain.
The truth of this position cannot be controverted,
and the sooner sufferers with ihe headache become
convinced of it, the sooner will their suffering end
in restoration of health, Dr. Spohn pledges his
professionai reputation on this fact. Trie remedy
may be had of apothecaries generally throughout

The following was forwarded to Dr. Peters, by a
highly respectable Planter otf Wake County, No
Ca.,March 3d, IS3S:
Dr. Peters —Dear Sir, —By request of your agent,
Mr. Harrison, I send you a few lines respecting the
almost miraculous effects of your piPs; and I would
add, that you may make use ol them, in connection
with my name, in any manner you deem proper, I
speak of their merits from experience,as I and my
family have taken upwards of thirty boxes in three
years ; and so great ai*e the benefits we nave receiv
ed from them in general, that I would rather pur
chase them at ten dollars a box than have my house
without them. I will not enumerate the afflictions
they have relieved us of; bat I can assure you they
were many, and of very opposite natures, which
has fully proved to me that your medicine is a sim
ple purifier of the system, and therefore equally
the enemy of every disease. I will mention one
case. I Lave a sister who had been for a long pe
riod severely afflicted with dropsy in the che?t and
was brought by it to the very verge of the gra\ e.
She was attended by the most eminent physicians
that money could procure; but ail their efforts to
restore her to health, or even to mitigate her suffer
ings were fruitless ; and accordingly,we all consid
ered her immediate death as inevitable. By good
fortune, however, as she was in this situation, ex
pecting every day to be her last, your pills were
introduced into my family, and so speedy and pal
pable were their effects that three doses visibly re
lieved her, and in less than three months she was
perfectly restored to health. This case, I and aH
who were witness of it, (but more especially the
suffering party,) considered to be the next thing to
miraculous; and yet I could mention many more
of an equally desperate nature, in which your pills
were equally successful in rescuing the patients
from the jaws of death. Need I add that the popu
larity of your medicine amounts to enthusiasm in
this section of the country ? But this 1 presume
you know from the immense quantity you dispose
of. 1 may mention, however, that notwithstanding
its general use, 1 never heard an individual complain
of its effects. My residence is 12 miles from Ral
eigh, on the road to Fayetteville. I am, with sen
timents of regard, your ob’t servant.
A. G. BANKS.
To Dr. Peters, —Sir —F’or upward l3 of fifteen

and Ague; and during the time could find nothing —

Communication received from the eminent Dr. J.
H. Irwin of Florence, Georgia:
Dr. J. P. Peters—My Dear Sir —On the night of
the 11th inst., I was called in great haste to the
house of a fellow ciazen, (Mr. Lee.) where I found
his son laboring under a most alarming attack of
Cynanche Tracnealis (Cronp) and apparently' be
yond the aid of remedy. By the greatest good for
tune, however, 1 had in my pocket a broken box of
your pills—four of which I administered, with j
such immediate happy effect that in a few minutes
my' patient was at ease, and out of danger. This
case, in connection with my name is at your ser
vice—and 1 have the pleasure to be able to inform
you that your inestimable medicine is in such great
favor with the faculty here, that I believe there is
not one of them who does not use it in his private
practice. Yours most resp’v.

Extract from a letter written by Dr. F rancis Bo

pills are an excellent aperient and cathartic medi

of the quantity taken, and are decidedly superior
to Lee’s, Brandreth’s or Morrison’s Pills.

fBNHE great celebrity of this unrivalled Coinpo
sit ion, especially inthe Nori hern States, leaves
the proprietor but little need to say any thing in its
favor: for it has been generally conceded to it,that
it is beyond all comparison the best remedy lor ex
ternal complaints that has ever been discovered.
Indeed the'speed and certainty of its operations,
have tlw appearance of miracles : as ulcers, wounds,
corns, fever sores, chilblains, while swellings, biles,
piles,spider and snake bites, &c. <fec., immediately
yield to its superhuman influence. Thus, it prop
erly applied it will remove an inveterate corn or
break and heal a biie in live nays, will allay and
perfectly cure an ulcer in two weeks, and the must
desperate cases ot white swelling that can be ima
gined, have been destroyed by it in less than two
months. In the bites of poisonous reptiles its effi
cacy is truly surprising, and if applied in time, its
powers of attraction are so wonderful that they will
at once arrest the poison and thus prevent it from
perva nng the system. It is likewise greatly supe
rior to any medicine heretofore discovered for the
chafed back and limbs of horses—lor tetters, ring
worms, chapped lips —and in short, for every exter
nal bodily evil that may fall to the lot of man or
beast.
The proprietor has received at least a thousand
certificates, and other documents, in fhyor of his
“ Specific Oinirn nt,” upwards of a hundred of
which were written by respectable m«nil?ef9of the
Medical Faculty.

Sir—l useyour Specific Ointment in my practice,
and cordially recommend it as a most efficient feme

Brooklyn, N. Y., Oct. 29, 1833.
Dear Sir—My daughter,a girl of fourteen, was
sadly afflicted witn thecomp aim that physicians
termed a scald head ; and I feared, independent ol
every other evil, that she would he bald in conse
quence. By the recommendation, however, of the
Reverend Mr. Rernn, 1 applied your ointment to the
afflicted part; and 1 thank God that my child is
now entirely recovered from the disease, and is
getting her hair as fast as can be expected. The
cure was effected in rather less than two months;
daring which lime I used fiv dollars worth of oint

duting the previous three years, without
whatever.
MARY HOWARD.
I hereby substantiate the truth ol ihe above

immediate conveyance, and v\ithout regard to the
expense of carriage, as lam quite out, and much
in want of it.—You know my estimation of your
valuable discovery, and therefore I shall only add,
that further experience has increased my enthusi

Sir —The virtues of your Specific Ointment, have
been long known t .e,as 1 have used none oilier
in my rather extensive practice torseve.-al years, and
if you think it would be to your advantage, 1 can
furnish you with twenty certificates of important
cures which it has effected under my own imme

and apparently perpetual ulcer, in the hack of a
poor woman, Mary Baxter who residetf'in 216 Di

j onedays. My present chief object in writing to
you, is to learn who is your authorised agent in this
city, for, being in want of a supply of your oint
ment, and the person Mr. Boyle, from whom 1 used
to purchase it, having laded and gone out of busi T

may be imposed on bv a counterfeit.

Dr. Harrison.
Sir, —1 have no hesitation in stating, in reply to
your note, that your “ Spec ific Ointment” is truly
equal to the majority ol the ends for which vou re
commend it. 1 qualify ray certificate by the word
majority, as it is ray maxim to give no opinion in
medical matters where 1 have hud no experience.
In sprains, bruises, inflammations, eruptions, whit
lows, piles, «fec.,it is mv universal recipe. I have
also used it on the leg of a boy which had been
bitten by an adder, and the extraction of the poison,
and ultimate cure was a rapid, that my patient w-as
as well as ever in a week ; and has remained so to
this day
