Profession in Germany, in Europe.
[ We, the undersigned, practitioners of medicine ;
in Germanv, are well aware that, by' our course,
Ive may forfeit the friendship of some of the facul
ty, but not of its benevolent members, who are un
influenced by se.fish motives. Though we shall
refrain from an expression of our opinion, cither
>f the soundness or unsoundness of Dr. Goelick’s
Hew doctrine, we are happy to say that we deem
kis Sanative too valuable noit. to be generally
Known —for what our eyes beuold and our ears
kear. we must believe.
[ We Hereby sta e, that when Dr. Louis Offen
Joelick first came before the German public, as
he pretended discoverer of a new doctrine and a
lew medicine, we held him in the highest con
empt. believing and openly pronouncing him to be
base impostor o d the prince of quacks. But, on
iearin* so much said about the Sanative, against it
n 1 fox' it, we were induced, from motives of curi
piij*'merely, to make trial of its reputed virtues
|pon a number of our most hopeless patients; and
pve now deem it our bounden duty (even at the
Sxpense of self-interest) publicly' to acknowledge
Its tificacy in curing not only consumption, but
fther fearful which we have heretofore
Believed to be incurable. Our contempt ior the
fecoverer of this medicine was at once swallowed
Ei in our utter astonishment a.l these unexpected
■suits; and, as amends for oui ; abuse of him, w e
■d frankly confess to the world, that we believe
■im a philanthropist, who does honor to the profes

The recent adoption of this medicine into some

that it performs all promises. .It needed not our

PROSPECTUS OF THE
CHRONICLE & SENTINEL.
The Chronicle and Sentinel is devoted to
Commerce, Politics, and General Intelligence.
Its location in the principal mart of the State,
gives it decided advantages over the papers of any
other part of the State, in presenting the earliest
and most important commercial news. Reports of
toe most important markets in the Union are copied
with 'gicat care, and a review of the Augusta mar
ket and the \alue of money, is made up with the
strictest accuracy for the tri-weekly and weekly
papers, which affords the Merchant, Planter and
