dy of such defaulter. That if the said
collector lhall “levy on the goods, chat,
tcls, lands or tenements of any such de

place of public sales within the said city,
giving such not ice* as is required of (he
rifFs and constables in the sale of real and
personal property, (as the case may he.)
Bur in cases where he may arrest the body
of the defaulter, he (hall carry fnch de
faulter before the Intcndant or any mem
ber of the council) who »(hall thereupon
commit such person to the common jail
of this county by a mittimus, which
fiiall date the amount of tax and cods
due by such defaulter, and there to remain
until paid, or from thence delivered by
due course of law.

such apprentices included in his, her or

far as they axe chargeable with poll tax

slaves hired by persons living within the
limits aforefaid, lhall be included in the
returns made by the person or persons

dant, by consent of the council, may

ry ; and the collector of the city tax,
or the marshal of said city, is hereby
authorifed and required to levy the fame

such persons as lhall exhibit such, or any
of the abovementioned animals, or any
other for money ; or keep any of the a*
hovementioned, or any other gaming ta
bles, theatrical exhibition or Ihow ; and
in case no goods are to be found, to take

committed until such tax is paid.

A ration to consist of one pound and a
quarter of beef, or three quarters of a
pound of pork, eighteen ounces of bread
or flour, one gill of rum, whifky or
brandy, and at the rate of two quarts of
fait, four quarts of vinegar, four pounds

randies to every hundred rations. The
