MY Company has at last left for
the seat of War, and I have bee.i detailed by
Bigadier General PILLOW , C. S. A. Chief of
Volunteer and Conscript Bureau, to -proceed
tojlut section of the State from which the Re
giment was raise! for the purpose of : •.rail
ing Volunteers, enrolling Conscripts and con
ducting the nto my command.” This manner
of raising troops is permitted under late orders
and instructions from the War Department, and
I now. invite all men subject to Conscription
who desire to enter this favorite branch of ser
vice to call and Volunteer immediately end not
wait to be conscripted. It becomes us as Geor
gians now to enter the Army—to fill up the
ranks now terribly decimated by' action and
disease and aid our brothers already in the
Held, in beating back to their own lanil the mis
erable hirelings who are to-day desolating our
r Srfle soil. One more vigorous campaign, such
an one as -’62 will in all probability terminate
this unholy crusade upon us. Desertion is
spreading far and wide in the North—their
counsels are distracted—their efforts for our
subjugation have been thwarted and have end
ed in their everlasting infamy and disgrace, t -d
if we but do our duty in the coming campaign,
“ere the autumn leaves fall,” peace will spread
her broad aud welcome folds around us and
scatter
“Plenty through a smiling lard.”
I appeal to you then as citizens —good and
loyal citizens—to rally under our blood stained
banner, and lend a helping hand and willing
heart in driving back the foe and securing all
that we as Americans hold near and dear.
Assistance when needed will be given
in the purchase of Horses. All equipments
can be obtained from me.

derson, Covington, Ga. or the undersigned at

I AM authorized by Col. G. W. Lee, Com’d'g
Post at Atlanta, to raise a company of In
fantry for local defence to be stationed at At

I will take men of any age, provided they are
phisically able for service.
Now is the time to volunteer! Dont wait and
be conscripted. “Every body,” will soon leave
to go to war, and yon would do better now than
you perhaps ever will again.
Remember, that now is as dark, if not the dar
kest hour of our country’s peril, you are all
cd||td on to help, somebody will have to be in
thelighter service.
Do you desire a situation of that'sort? if you
do come & join me, you will be'near your homes

I can be found at the office of D. M. Young,
