MORE CORRUPTION.
The people of Georgia have not re

by tQe exposure of the corruption of

State Treasurer, and in tho report of
the Committee on Retrenchment, when
tlioy are called upon to receive further
evidence of the dishonesty of the crca-

them, and the complicity of tho subor
dinates whom he has gatherd about
him. The report from Treasurer An
gler in relation to llio payment ol the
publio funds upon -warrants authori

where, as it appears in tho Atlanta
Constitution, opens a now chapter
in the series of frauds whieh havffocen
purpetratod upon the tax payers.—
This report is very plain and pointed
in its statement of facts. Bullock or
dered a claim to ho paid whieh had
been refuted by Governor Jenkins
and tho Legislature. .Upon the dec
larations of his two private and confi
dential Secretaries, that the claim had
not been before presented, it was paid
and tho Secretaries pocketed one half
Of the proceeds. There the matter
■lands, .as prominent a piece of fraud
and corruption as tho history of Rad
icalism affords.
We have a little to add that may
strengthen the case. One oi these
small pox claims was tried in the Su,

». These aro matters of

to Bullock and his subordinates. The
Ex-Provisional Governor pressed hie

an obstruction in the way. One
Madisoii Bell, tho Comptroller Gene

arrived at that point in Radicalism
whero moral obligations aro forgotten,
and common honesty despised. He
refused tQ countersign the warrnt, al-

rascality, when it was first presented."
Subsequently he was fortified in bis
decision by the opinion of tho Supreme
Court, and when his refusal was com
municated to the Ex-Provisional Gov

the South:
Evidenoe daily " accumulates, going
j show that the nrcsent year the
South will demand and consume
double tho quantity of provirions that
alio did last year. In view of this
fact, wlmtis the condition ofthe trade
in the hog product ol tho West at this
time. The south is oonaaming meatot
the now crop, while the eld stock was
consumed long before the new could
he got forward. This it unusual for
the season, and is of gTeat importance.
In tno face of this fact, we have the
evidence that there is at least an even
clianoo tor a small crop of hogs to give
us the moat for the coming wants.—
Could wo comonp to; lui year's oiop,
we should then bo deficient, for that

cramped by tho laok of mesns to pay.
Now, 'with increased facilities for
lyment and a consumption so far ot

and yet legitimate, as wo have before
this remarked, the “hog product” is
to bo short this year in any event that
now occur, tramo writers are dcs-
