“The City Council of Augusta, hereby cau
tion the public against renting from the TuiStees
of the Richmond Academy, the Common of this
city or any part of it, as they consider it their
duty to protect the right of the citizens to the
use o< it as a Common, and will use all legal and
proper mean* to prevent that right from being
invo red.”

the caution inserted by the City Council of Au
gusta, in the Gazettes ot the city, against any.
poisons renting the Common from the Board
which is held by them in Tiust for the u=e of the
Academy afotesaid. This caution is the more
exiiaordinaiy, inasmuch as the City Council
have been for the last ten years up to the 1-t
inst Tenants of life Trustees of the very Com
mon referi, and o—and also, that within the last
two weeks a negociation has been pending be
tween the parties f«»r a further extension of the
lease- The Trustees deem it only nc-cessart to
advise the public, that lessees of any portion of
the aforsaid Common, will lie protected in lin
en joyment of their rights, by a convenant set
forth in the deeds of leash from the Trustees to
that effect
The QtSminon will be offered for Lease on tt.e
first Tuesday in February next, as previously
advertised.
