brought to this city ir. wagons or carts for stile,
shall b« weighed at the scnles prepared for that
purpose near the lower market
8.-;o. 21. Beit further ordained. That it shall
be the duty of the clerk of ihe lower market to
superintend the weighing nfall Fodder, Hay and
Oats, at all hours of the day, from sun rise till
sun set And tha party selling such Fodder,
Hay or O its, shall pay to the said clerk fifty cts
01 each wagon, and twenty-five, cents for each
cart or dray.
Sec. 3d Be it further ordamed. That every
person who shall violate the provisions of this
Ordinance, may be fined in a sum not exceeding
Twenty Dollars.

JLAW OF GEORGIA,
AN ACT to provide for the call of a
Convention to reduce the number ol
the General Assembly of the State
of Georgia, and for othor purposes
therein named.
lit it enacted by the Senate and House
of Representatives of the State of Geor
gia in General Assembly met, and it is
hereby enacted by the au'hority of the
same , 1 hat the fitsi Monday in April,
1833, be, and the same is hereby desig
nated and set apart as the day on which
the citizens of Georgia qualified to vote
for members of the Legislature, shall at
the several places prescribed by law f»r
holding such elections vote for delegates
to represent them in Convention, in num
ber equal to their representation in both
branches of the General Assembly; such
elections to be conducted, managed and
certified under the same law as are of
force in respect to elections of rnembors
of the General Assembly.'
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted , That
it shall be the duty of such managers to
transmit to bis excellency tbe Governor
the restilt of said elections under the laws
nowofforce for conducting managing and
certifying elections of membersof General
Assembly as aforesaid, within 30 days af
ter such elections Whereupon it is made
the duty of His Excellency the Govern
or to issue his proclamation declaring ihe
result of said elections by naming the
individuals severally elected to represen:
the good people of Georgia in Convention
as contemplated by this act.
Sec. 3, And be it further enacted , That
every citizeo of ihe United States shall be
eligible to a seat in said Convention who
has attained the age of twenty-five years,
and been an inhabitant of this Si are seven
years immediately preceding tbe day of
his election and who shall have resided
one year in the county far which he shall
be elected.
Sec. 4, And be it further enacted, That
each member returned as duly elected,
shall previous to taking his seat in said
Convention take the following oath, or
affirmation, viz: I, A. B. do Solmnly
swear, that I will not uttempt to add to,
ot take from the constitution or a tempt
to change or alter any other section,clause
or article of the tonsliiution of the Siate
of Georgia, otheir than those touching the
representation in the General Assembly
thereof; and that I have been n citizen
of this state for the last seven years, st» (
help me God; And any person elected
to a seat in said Convention, who shall
refuse to take the oath aforesaid,shall noi
be allowed to take his seat in said Con
vention.
Stic. 5, And be it farther enacted, That
the members of said Convention shall
assemble on the first Monday in May af
ter their electioh, at M'lledgeville, in
the Representative Chamber of the State
House, for tbe purpose ofentering upon
and consummating the great objects of
their convention! to-wit: a reduction and
equalization of the General Assembly;
shall have power to presetihe their own
rules and forms of business, and to deter
mine on the qualifications of their own
members; elect necessary officers, and
make all orders which they may deem
cenductive to the fm (Iterance of the ob
ject for which such Convention shall as
semble.
Sec. 6, And be it further enacted, Thai
it shall be the duty of His Excellency the
Governoi to give publicity to the altera
tions and amendments made in the Con
sti-ution in reference to the direction [re
d action J of the number of the members
compukthg the General Assembly, and
theft s! Monday in October next, alter
the r.sing of the said Convention, he shall
fix for the ratification, of such new arti
cles as they may make for the object of
(eduction and equalization of the Getter*
al Asserhbly only: and if ratified by a ma
jority of-the voters who vote on the ques
tion of “Ratification” or" No Ratification
then and in that event, the alterations
so by them made and ratified, shall I e
binding on tha people of this Slate and
not otherwise.
Sec. 7 And be it further enacted, That
it shall be a fundamental aiticle in the
formation or Amendment of the Consti
tution, that each county of the Siate now
organized or I aid out, or which may Iter
after be created by law, shall be entitled
to at least one representative in the rep
resentative branch of the General Assem
bly-
Sec. Bs, And be it further enacted, That

he is hereby required to cause it to be
published in the Gazettes of this Slate,
once a week until the day fixed on by
this act for the election of delegates to
said Convention; and that all laws and
parts of laws militating against this act,
