fifteen years of the presidency of James D. John-

The'seminary will be Composed of three de-
partmenta. The classic, mathematxj, and prepara-
uny.
'I he number of popils in the Clastic- department,

itajhematic forty-five—in these two departments,
there will be two sessions In one year, with four
weeks vacation at the end of each session. , - -
Every atndeat .that eaten the Classic depart
ment, shall pay seven dollars and fifty cents per
quarter, and the quarterly prices of tuition is the
second department, will he as follows, ia.
■ Writing, reading and English grammar, er any
oaekf.tlMdfc three dollars. Arithmetic alone, or
added to any or all the above branches, four dol
lars Geography, with -the use of the Globes by
useif, or in conjunction wiih any or all of the

The Languages, Rhetoric, Logic, Philosophy,
both natural and moral, Uie higher branches ot
Mathematicand Book Keeping, or any one of
diem, together with all or any ,of the aforefnen-
tiouedstudies, seven dollar* andfifty cents.
The public w ill phase to notice here, that the
prices in these two departments, are the same as
under the former administration of Mr! Johnson,
except the studies then at six dollars, arc now ad
vanced tu seven dollars and fifty cents. And the
directors ted a confidence that this change will
meet the approbation ot the citizens generally,
when they know Mr. Johnson is eugagadto re
main with us, and devote himself wholly .to us
for fifteen years, and when they are also told, that
in the neighbouring towns the price of tuition for
these-branches u still higher than our present
price. And can we reasonably expect that,ths
*ame services will be rendered. here by one who
makes teaching his great and only business, at ve
ry reduced prices, when the ezpence of firing is
quite ss great as in towns adjacent. ^'
But .to compensate for uua advancement of
price, in tfiehigucr branches, and to remove'as far
as pofiiblc,-every cause, uf dissatisfaction, the Di
rectors lave established a third department, for the
benefit of *11 classes of the people of the town
where wUl be taught, at moderate prices, the fol.
lowing branches, viz.
ABC, and Spelling, or either of them, two
dollars per quarter. If reading alone, or added
to the foregoing, two dollars and twenty-five cents,,
for Writing alone, or added to the above, two
dollars and filly cents, Grammar and Arithmetic,
or either of them, brio conjunction with any or all
of the above branches, three dollars. ;
In this department, the number of pupils shall
at no time exceed filly-fire, and the vacations at
the end of each season shall be but three weeks.
The school in this department, will commence
ic week sooner, than in the other. two depart
ments, that the examinations may take.place, at
the same lime. ' ' •'
