TION, consisting of six hundred and sixty acres
of land, situate on the. road leading from Louis,
vide tn Augusta, distant about three miles from
the firmer place. It is well improved; and there
is rather wore then two hundred seres of cleared
land; all fresh, and under excellent fences. With
the plantation would be sold forty-five prime

Steam Saw Mill for sale.
Tn consequence of the ill heslib of the present
proprietor of the Chatham Steam Saw Midi, and
his intention of leaving Savannah, the above valu-
able establishment is offered for sale on liberal
term*; either the whole or in shares. The engine
is a sixteen horse power, which works two com-
plote gangs of saws,' also a grist mill. The
building is 120 feet long, has 60 feet carriages, and
been in operation about six month*, and is in
every respect in complete-order. An unexpired
lease of the wliarf of nine years, which is 150 feet
front, and 500 feet deep—also a good dwelling,
bouse, with other out-buildinga, all in good repair,
will be sold with the mill.
The above establishment can be viewed at any
time on application to M. HERBERT.

impediment in his speech.

ried off by her husband, (Prince) about six weeks
ago, belonging to Mr. Edward F. Campbell, of
Augusta, and lias not since been heard of. Rosa
is well known in Savannah, having purchased her
of Mr Isaac Mini*- she formerly belonged to Mr.
Freeman. Bryer Creek. Ten dollan* reward will
be paid, and all reasonable expences. for lodging
her in Savannah gaol, or any gaol, where 1 can

Absconded a fe * clay* aince, PRINCE, a shoe,
maker by trade, well known about Savannah, an
elderly roan, of moderate stature, pock marked,
with a cast or blemish in one eye. His wife, (be-
longing to Mr. Wallen) he took off with him. It
is probable he may have gone to Charleston, where
lie originally belonged. The above reward will
be raid with necessary charges, to any one who
will lodge him in Savannah gaol, or secure him
and give notice to L. Kollock, or the subscriber.

On Sunday eveniug, the 21st instant, the house
of the subscriber vu entered intis by some villain
or villains, and hid themselves, it ft supposed, un.'*
der bis bed; and in the night when he was sleep,
ing, took away the sum of S138, which was in a
French and Latin prayer book, upon the table, in
bank bills of the following description, (numbers
not recollected)

7 bill* of the Planters’ and State of Georgia
banka for g* each;
The rest in Augusta, Savannah, and North Car
olina bank bills of gt,' 3 and 3. The thief or
thieves took away the prayer book, in which the
name of the subscriber u written in the first page;
and alto took away an iron weight marked 14lbt.
A reward of Thirty dollars will be paid for tbe
recovery of the money, and Twenty dollars more
to apprehend and bring to conviction tbe thief or
thieves. Information to be given to tbe subscri
bet-, Bay-lane, four doors west of Mr. P. Duffy.

For apprehending and lodging in any gaol in
this state, a negro man by the name ofFinituiRT,
59 years of age, about 5 feet 7 inches high, re
markably strait built, black complexion, one or
two of of to upper fore-teeth out; he is an artful
and cunning fellow: most probably be has got on
board some of the Augusta flats. The above re
ward, with all reasonable expences, will be paid
to any person delivering said negro to the sub-cri-
ber, living in Effingham county, Tuskaseking; or
securing him in any gaol in tbe state, so tliat I get

of Georgia, and others, and that lie is unsble to
pay his debts, or to support himself in Ins confine,

his estate, real and personal, for the benefit of his
creditors, in terms of the Insolvent Acts of this
State.
It is ordered,' That the said Burrel Lathrop be

ged in the premises, and that notice thereof be

Whereas,* hbel hath this day been filed, in the
admiralty court nftlic United Slates, for said dis
trict, by Charles Mulvey, vice consul of his catho
lic majesty tin king ol* Spain, for the stale of
Georgia, against a err'ain ship k»r vessel called the
Pastors, stating as follows: That the said vessel,
“the Pa-vtora,” with a valuable cargo on board,
was on the 19'h day of the present month of June
forced and seized within the jurisdictional limits
of the United States, by 'he boats of the United
Stales’ revenue cutter Dallas, commanded by
Jacks- n and brough. in o the port of Sa
vannah, in the district aforesaid, and within the
jurisdiction of this honorable court, where she
now rides at anchor; That the libellant hath been
informed, that the said -hip or v e-.sel, and tbe car
go ladrn on board of her, is the property of cer
tain subjects of his majesty Ihe said king of Spain,
ami that the said vessel anil Calgo were lately,
a fail.- Lawfully prosecuting a voytge upon (he high
and open seas, unlawfully, piratically and feloni-
nusly seized and taken possession of. by a certain
arm. d schooner or vessel called the Young Spar
tan, said to luvc been commanded by one
Smith, u ho hath fled—that the said armed vessel
sailed under various flags, without any authority
or ron.mission whatever, to capture the property
ot the said Spanish subjects; That the said armed
vessel is owned in whole or in part, bv citizen*
of the United S'atea nf America, w as fitted out,
armed and equipped wit tin the juriseiietion of the
said United States; and that the persons command
ing the said .-onted vessel the Young Spartan, at
the time of the capture of the said Spanish vessel
and the cr< w by which she was then manned, arc
citizens of lha said United States, and were en
listed and engaged to serve on board the said

aiid all which actings ami doings are- contrary to
the laws of the United States, and of nations.
Now, therefore, you. the said marshal, and here

cargo, to be and appear at a special court of ad
miralty, to be held at the court house in the city of

Whereas, a libel hath this day been filed in the
Admiralty court of the United States, for said
district of Georgia, by Jacksor, commander
••f the United Slates’ revenue- cutter Dallas, as well
on behalf of the said United States aa of himself,
the officers and crew of the said revenue cutter,
stating, that a certain ship or vessel c died the P»-
tera, under the command of one Ralph Clintarlc,
having on board a valuable cargo, arrived within
the limits of the United States on or about the
fiturteenth day of June, in the present year of our
Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighteen;
that afterwards, before the said ship or vessel had
come to the proper place for the discharge of her
cargo, or any port thereof, and without anv au
thority obtained from the proper officer or office r*
of the customs, to unh.ee the cargo of the said
ship, or any part thereof, to n ir, on the seven
teenth day of the month of June aforesaid, the said
Ralph Clintack, or some other person, having the
command of tlie said ship or vessel, did unlade
and deliver from her a large part of her cargo—
and the said libellant further shew, that divers
goods, wares and merchanise, part of ihe cargo
of the said ship Pastors, sa unlawfully unladen
and delivered from the said ship as aforesaid, were
on the arventeeih day of the aforesaid month of
June, within the limits of one of tbe districts of
tbe United States, put and received into a certain
sloop or vessel, called the Fiie-Fly, tb-n under the-
command and charge of one — for tlie
purpose of landing the same in some port or place
within the United States, without any permit or
authority from the proper officer or officers of the
customs therefor—be. the said ■ to
being commander of the avid sloop Fire-Fly as
aforesaid, well know ing that the aaid goods, wares
and merchandise, were unladen and delivered from
the said ship Pastora without authority, and con-
t'lry to law, and aiding and assisting therein.- all
which actings and doings and assisting therein, are
in violation of 'be provision* of an act of the con-
grea* of the United States, entitled “an act to re
gulate the collection of duties on imports and ton
nage,” passed the second day of March, one thou
sand seven hundred and ninety nine.
Now, therefore, you (be said marshal are here
by commanded to cite and admonish all and every
person or persons, having or pretending to have
any right, title, interest, claim or demand of, in. to
or upon, tlie said sloop Fire-Fly, a d all on board,
to be and appear at a special court of Admiralty,
to be held at the court-bouse in Savannah, on the
