a thousand ceitincates and other documents in
favor of this Specific Ointment—and they em
brace almost all tlie complaints—in their worst
stages—to which Ointment or sticking plaster
can bo applied. Among these certificates, there
are a great mnny from tiie most eminent physi

ol bis Ointment, in bruises, cuts, mid all the ex
ternal complaints and diseases of horses; mid
nmong themure no less than a dozen certifying
to the perfect cures which it has performed on

For the FA CE and SKIN, and of vital importance
to the support of FEMALE LOVELINESS.
P OWERFUL of effect, yet mild ofinfluence,
this admirable specific (a Preparation from

f**ctly free from mineral, or other pernicious
admixture) possesses balsamic properties of snr-
n.’.v.uc, euergy. It eradicates TAN, FREC-
Taylor’s Balsam of Liverwort*
F OR consumption, liver complaint, nstiiuia,
loss of flesh, palpitation of the heart, &c.
Delays are always dangerous—particularly so to
thdse who neglect their colds mid coughs. At
first you complain of u cold, which is neglected)
afterwards.»bareness is felt in tho bronchia, with
u hacking cough, and finally the diseaso settles
upon the lungs; then comes hectic fever, spitting
of blood, pain in tho chest, hard coughs and sweats.
To*obviate all these distressing symptoms, spare
no time in using Dr. Taylor’s Bulsain of Liver
wort. For eight years tliis invaluable vegetable
Balsam has been used with unbounded success.
Very Important.—The original Proprietor
wishes it to be distinctly understood, that ho has
no connexion with 375 Bowery, (N. Y.) und
that the individual oftlml number is not authori

To Gentlemen, whose faces are tender after
SHAVING.—A great infelicity which attends
the operation of Shaving is the irritation ofthe

cause. Holland's Klaydor -will be found excel

It protects the face and skin from the perni

WARRANTED—Crop 1840.
T HE Proprietor’s opportunities for extensive
practical observation have enabled him judi
ciously to discriminate such varieties of vegeta
bles or arc really worthy of culture, from tlie infe
rior, or, as is not unfrequent, worthless varieties
ofthe same class, which have been perpetuated
through incxperence; therefore, in making this
selection, he has excluded ninny sorts usually
found in the Catalogues of those who ore mere
renders not practical growers of seeds.—And he is
not sure that the variety might not he still further
reduced with advantage; nt any rate this is ample
for any garden, however extensive, und fully
adapted to the nicest taste.
As to quulity of tlie seeds, the proprietor wishes
it to ho remembered, thnt what is sold by him is
of his oicu groieth, (with but slight exception,)

Jayne’s Hair Tonic—Hair*
T HERE is nothing like a good head of hair to
set eff a man’s pale. As tho poet says—
“—Tigthe robe which curious nature weaves
To liana upon tlie head, and docs adorn
Our bodies."
To he sure a bald bend is becoming'enough in,
a judge, or a minister, for it looks grave and ven
erable, and tho’ it mny not be nn unerring ovi-
donee of wisdom, yet it is u decisive proof that
tlib individual is not imir braiued.—Young per
sons, especially young beaus and belles, nre rath
er averse to u premature disrohemeut oftheir
roofs; and he who offers n remedy to preserve
that important ornament must ho looked upon in
tho light of u benefuctor. Ami such a one is Dr.
Jayne, whose hair toniuhasdoiui wonders iucoux
mg tlie hair nut on burren spots, and preventing
its fulling off. There is no quackery about this
article. We Imve seen evidence ul'its efficacy.
A gentleman who hns been Imld fora number of
years, by tho use of this tonic, has got quite n
flourishing growth on tho late wnsto plane. Those
whoso liuir, like fulso friends, is leaving them
will find this an excellent preventive. To young
bucks who aspire to bushy whiskers, this tonic
must ho invuluuhle^-and. to young ladies who
would preserve their glossy ringlets, it must bo
tlie great desideratum.—Portland Transcript.

PETEK’S PILLS.
W E would cull attention to the advertisement
in our columus to-day ofPETEUS’ VEG
ETABLE PILLS. Wo understand by tho best
medical authority, thnt there is no preparation of
the day which enjoys so enviable n reputation.
At the South and North, their success has been
unbounded, nud wherever introduced we believe
they Imve given tlie most perfect satisfaction.
We have this day had un interview with one of
our citizens, Henry K. Fox, who was recently
cured ofn most remarkable and ohstiuute cuta
neous emotion, where tlie body was covered with
fulsome ulcers, nnd even the tonsils of the throat
eaten away—mid by using these Pills daily for six
weeks, was ontirely restored to hcaitli.—New
York Examiner.
PETERS’ VEGETABLE PILLS.
They do indeed restore the health ofthe body,
because they purify und invigorate the blood, and
thoir good effects nre not counterbalanced by any
inconvenience; being composed entirely of veg
etables, they do not expose those who use them
to danger, nnd their effects ure ns certain ns they
arc salutary; thoy are dally nud safely adminis
tered to inlanny, youth, manhood und old iige, und
to womeiriti the most critifcnlnnd delicate circum
stances, they do not disturb or shock the animal
functions, but restores their order nnd re-estab
lishes their health; and for all the purposeswhich
a vegetable purgative, or certain cleanser of the
whole system are required, they stand without a
rival.
