I'rcmnmcudrd by the Faculty.
T HIS compound will bo found serviceable in
arresting and preventing decay in tenth;
keeping the teeth and gums in u healthy and clenu
condition ; sweetening the breath; removing tar
tar. and relieving pain caused by carious teeth.
Few discoveries In modern chemistry promise
more important results than that ofKreouite, hy
Dr. Keicheiihnch, an eminent chemist of Blnus-
ko, in Monrovia. It is n highly rectified liquid
product, obtained from wood, mid is analogous to
charcoal in its antiseptic properties, hut liir more
powerful ns a corrective ami preventive of de
cay. Charcoal, notwithstanding it* well known
cleansing properties, is objectionable as a denti
frice, on account of its insolubility, and the risk
of minute particle* remaining between the teeth
and producing injury. Krcosole, on the contra
ry. cannot be liable in this objection, and posses
ses, to a much greater extent, the antiseptic and
purifying properties of the former. The trials
which have been made with it. in this country
end Europe have proved its efficacy.
Il is strongly recommended by the Faculty as
the best preventive against caries in teeth. ’ To
sweeten the breath, rendered offensive by decay
ed teeib, lh« use of tobacco, or other cause.*, aud
tonrrest decay itself, it stands nre-eminent.
Ellis's compound Kreosotr. Tooth Wash, com
bines tho virtues of Kreosntc, of tho strength
adapted for this purpose, with other substances
known to be highly advantageous in whitening
and preserving the teeth.
it is confidently recommended to the pnlilicas
a valuable compound, which may he used daily
with great ndvnntage to the teeth aud gums, at the
same time leaving nn agreeable sensation in the
mouth. There is no arid in this wash, nor any
ingredients entering into its composition, but
such us are highly beneficial to the teeth.
It has been examined and used by several of
tlm first Physicians of this city, who have no hesi
tatinii in recommending it o"s an excellent wash
for the teeth ami gums, preventing the latter from
bccoo ing snungy.nnd, by its detergent and an

A specific and lasting cure for Fever and Ague.
T HIS worthy remedy earnestly repels the slur
of being a quack medicinn, it having been
the result of mnny years study, experience and
labor, in the medlcnl practice and observation of
Fever and Aguo. It is composed of such medi
cinal principles ns were considered most fit to re
store thehnrmony ofnetion between the stomach,
liver, nnd the other important functions of the
system.the loss of which harmony is evidently the
immediate emme of the disense. It speedily’ pro
motes n regular nnd healthy appetite which is
generally entirely destroyed or rendered very
precarious; by which effect, vigor nnd strength is
soon afforded to the whole system- It must be
nppnrentto all. that a medicine possessing these
peculiar virtues, is useful in a great variety of
complaint*. By renewing the healthy action of
the digestive organs, it hns proved itself of re
markable benefit in dyspepsia, depraved appetite,
heart-burn, water brush, flatulency, jaundice,
night sweats, dysentery, bowel complaints, and
nil other affection* of similar origin, but it is in
the treatment of Fevers, and especially in Fever
and Ague, nr Remittent Fever, thnt ft* powers
have been principally tested, and with those who
have seen it* usefulness, it is pronounced sover
eign to all remedies heretofore discovered fo
those diseases. It hns also been used as a pro
ventive, by many who were subject to a periodi
cal recurrence of the chill* and fever, nnd it hns
always warded off the apprehended attack. It
was deemed not improper to accompany tho
vegetable febrifuge with a few of tho many une
quivocal certificates politely furnished to tho pro
prietor,corroborative ofthe foregoing statements.
