Hitman Hair,
fTlIIE diseases ofthe hair among ns are those
J. which occasion baldness nnd gradual fulling
off ofthe hair, and thinness of it—tho cause* of
which nriso from many disorders, especially fe
vers; perspiration, winch extend* tho pores, re
laxes the roots, causes the Imir to fall off, and of
ten occasions total baldness. Baldness has ever
been esteemed a great defect. It generally arises
through violent exercise, from whence arise per
spirations, which too frequently occasion a loss
of flic hair—it relaxes tl.*: roots—the ncidity pre
vent* the fluid acting on the hair, which occasions
it to waste. For instance, after a violent perspi
ration the hair becomes dry, it feels extremely
harsh, nnd no elasticity in it whatever: therefore,
to prevent it* taking ‘nn effect on the hair, first
rub tlin hair dry with a cloth, then apply the Cns-
sadu Oil to the roots of the hair, so that the skin
of tho head tnny be moistened, and remain so af
ter each time of perspiration.

Rownnd’s Tonic Mixture, or
Veffetnble Febriftigc,
A specific ana lasting cure for Fever end Ague,
rii HIS vyorthy remedy earnestly repels the slur
X of being a quack medicine, it having been
the result of many, years study, experience and
labor, in the medical practice and observation of
Fever and Ague. It is composed of such medi
cinal principles as were considered most fit to re
store tbehnrmonv of action between the stomach,
liver, and the other important funqtions of tho
system.tho loss of which narmony is evidently the
immediate cause of the disease. It speedily pro-
motes n regular and healthy appetite which is
generally entirely destroyed or rendered very
preenrinus; bv which effect, vigor nnd strength is
soon afforded to the wholo system. It must he
apparent to nil. that a medicine possessing these
peculiar virtues, is useful in n great variety of
complaints. By renewing the healthy action of
the digestive organs, it has proved itself of re
markable benefit its dyspepsia, depraved appetite,
heart-burn, water brush,. flatulency, jaundice,
night sweats, dysentery, bowel complaints, and
another affections of similar origin, but it is in
the treatment of Fevers, nnd especially in Fever
nnd Ague, or Remittent Fever, that its powers
have been principally tested, and with those who
hnve seen itsusemlness, it is pronounced sover
eign to nil remedies heretofore discovered fo
those disease*. It has nlso been Used as a pro
ventive, by ninny who wore subject to n periodi
cal recurrence nf the chills ahd fever, and it lias
always warded off the upprehended a attack. It
was deemed not improper to accompany the
vegetable febrifuge with a few of tho many une
quivocal certificates politely furnished to flic pro

T HIS compound will be found serviceable in
arresl'nig nnd preventing decay in teeth;
keeping tho teeth and gums in a healthy nud clean
condition ; sweetening the breath; removing tar
tar. and relieving pnin caused by carious teeth.
Few discoveries in modern chemistry promise
more important results than flint of Kreorote, hy
Dr. Ucichunlmcl), an eminent chemist of Blnns-
ko, in Monrovia. It is n highly rectified liquid
product, obtained from wood, and isnimlogensto
charcoal in its antiseptic properties, but far more
powerful us n corrective and preventive of de
cay. Charcoal, notwithstanding its well known
cleansing properties, in objectionable ns n denti
frice, on account ofits insolubility, and the risk
of minute particles remaining between tho teeth
nnd producing injury. Kreosote, on the contra
ry, cannot be liable to this objection, nnd posses
ses, to n much greater extent, the untisnlitio and
purifying properties of the former. The trial*
which have been tirade with it, in this country
and Europe have proved it* efficacy.
It is strongly recommended by the Faculty ns

sweeten thn breath, rendered offensive by decay

to arrest decay itself, it stands pro-ominont.
