TO toe PLANTERS OF GEORGIA.
rrMIE undersigned has recontly received so many com-
A muulcations from tho planters of Georgia, in refer
ence to his compound of Chemical 8alts and Guano, that
he his determined upon a more direct communication
with them. Tho extraordinary results which have been
produced, both to land and crop from tho use of this mix
ture, enables him lo present It to their consideration
without reserve, doubt, or approhonilon or its certain
success. It will bo found quite as prompt as Guano }a>id
Its lasting properties only subordinate to lime. It is well
known thai Guano alone stimulates a powerful crop: but
correspondenUy depresses, exhausts, and Impoverishes
tbs soil. Tho combination with tho Salts, fires or sul
phates tbo ammonia which largely exists In Guano, but
In a free and volatile stales and It therefore cannot es
cape, but romalns In tho earth, to the grout advantage or
tho soil, and succeeding crons. Tho undersigned Is not
speaking from theory, but from actual experience, con-
firmed by a demand the past season, fbr more than dou
ble, all ho was capable of manufacturing. With a mod
erate use of those Balts, the somo soil can bo cultivated
nnd cropped every sonson, ns they contain nil the elemonto
that plants require; and supply what each crop takes
from the soil.
Thera Is no manure
ver.oragraln manure,.
It Is equally available —- — r - - - - -
properties sink Into the earth, Instead of rising therefrom,
as does Guano. Tho planter can, with entire facility,
make the mixture hlmsclT, ir desirable, and thereby save
the freight on the Guauo.
Contemplating this Improvement as a public blessing,
and kuowlng ttant most of our Atlantic soil needs renovr-
lion, tho undersigned has gained the consent of Mesirr,
N. A. Hasdxm to UOm of Savannah, to act ns his agents
for the Slate or Georgia. They will receive orders from
any part of lbo8tate, and tho undersigned will shin to
any portion or the State when directed by them. It is
uoi designed that Messrs. IUrdkk to Co. will keep tho
article on hand, but simply to furnish tho undersigned
with the orders, and receive the payment therefor. No
ordor wlU be supplied except onlered through them. •
• Freight for Baltimore Is from 25 lo 40 cents per barrel,
and the undersigned will agree to preseut to any charlta-
blo Institution in Georgia two hundred dollars, where any
other manure-marsh grass, stable, guano, or It matters
not what—can be proven to afford greater Improvement
to land and crop, than this compouud. the experiment to
bo made (Including the actual cost of labor In applying
domestic manures) and tinder the Inspection of gentlemen
known as carofol agriculturists, and who will lake suffi
cient Interest to give tho subject their personal attention.
With this explanation the undersigned rotors to the an
nexed advortlsemont. with the admonition, that those
who desire to make tho experiment should order early,
as the post season many were disappointed by delay, as
there were those whom he could not supply.
