COTTON.—On Saturday we heard ol but one sals
of 21 bales at 11 cents.
(Private Despatch.)
CHARLESTON, April 13,2,P.M.—The sales of Cot
ton to-day amounted to 1,50. bulee at full prices.
AUGUSTA, April 13.—There was some demand
ywterday, and about 300 bales were sold. Wo quote
L’ood middling atlJJ, and middling fair 11}. Holders
will not sell freeiy at these prices, preferring to wait
farther nows, and submit to lower prices, it the very
-■'-'at deficiency in the receipts, now near 520,000
bales, does not cause prices to rule higher.
There is comparatively nothing shipping. The riv-
. r rose yesterday and to-day about ten feet, and is
now falling slowly. *
ATLANTA, April 12.—Receipts very light. Yester
day, some nine or ten loads of Alabama cotton sold at
irom 10} to 11 cents.
Corn still brings GO cents ; Coni Meal, 60 a 65 ct3 ;
Bacon. 6 a 7 cts; Lard, 6 a 7 ; Oats, 3 a 35 cts.
CHATTANOOGA, April 10, 1850.—Corn, 35ct a . per
bushel; Corn Meal, 50 cts. per bushel; Bacon, 4 a 4}c.
hog round, plenty; Flour, .$5 a 6 p. r bl 1., plenty and
‘lull: Oats, 25 cents por bushel; Lumber, 20 cents per
quarter, in demand. Lard, 5 cents per lb.
Superfine Flour has again advanced to $6 per bbl;
Corn Meal plenty at the river at present, at 50 els per
Ini-hel, by retail; there is no corn in our market in
tir.-t Lands, for sa’e We have heard of the sale of
two lots of Bacon since our last, one of 18 000
pounds, at 4 c nts, and one of 4,000 pounds, at 4} ts,
at which pric s we new qu »te it. In ref rence to all
other art cle . our quetat ons remain the same as la^t
week.
Our Commission Merchants are crowded with bu
siness—they are kept almost constantly employ d
day and night, in receiving and forwaiding g on ,
which continue to arrive in large quantities i>y the
Railroad Care; and a great many goods do not go
t»the commissiou houses at all, but are hauled awi y
horn the Depot in wagons, for the purpose of avoid-
lr S l h e payment of drayage and commissions.

NLW YORK, April 10.—There is more demand
tor money to-day, and principally for pnymexA of
duties on foreign importations. The Banks are dis
counting to the extent of their abilities, but not being
quite able to supply all their customers, many have
to negotiate elsewhere.
lliere is rather less cash in the market to-day, in
consequence of the increased demand. Loans on call
■ 4i ’ e at 5, 6 a 7 per cent, according to tire securi-
• Prime 60 days to 6 months, 6} to 8 per cent.; and
miscellaneous securities, though less known in

| ' liarleston has not had any bills protested, bearing
I endorsement, or with which the Bank is in any
l'. a y connected, nbr is the Royal Bank its agent in
Liverpool.
i I mk Dry Goods Trade.—The dry goods market

Compound Fluid Ex-tract of Conyza nnd
Stylliimiu.
’Ft IIIS preparation is a Concentrated Extract, con-
i taining all the Active Medical Properties of the
Conyza, (commonly known as Black Root,) and the
Styllingia, or Queen’s Delight.
These plant- huve been long used among our South'.
era Negroes, and recently by the Medical Profession,
with the huppiest results, in cases of Chronic Rheu
matism, Ulcers of long standing, and Secondary
Syphilis. It is much superior to any preparation of
Sarsaparilla as an alterative, being more active arid
prompt in its operation on the system. These facts
have induced the subscribers to present to the atten
tion of Phy.-icians u tiuid extract prepared strictly ac
cording to Chemical ami Purniaceutical science, de
void ol all the feculent and inert parts of the roots,
not doubting that it will supersede the unscientific and
crude preparations hitherto used.
