From tlic Hon. Judge Henry Morse.
Mr. A. L. Scovill: 1 am well acquainted with
Dr. Hiram Cox and his practice, he having been my
family physician for many yenre, and can cheerfully
say that I have ns much confidence in his skill ns any
man living. HENRY MORSE.
Cincinnati, Nov. 8th, 1847.
From William Rlclmnds, M. D.
I feel constrained from a sense ot duty to make
the following statement, conscious that it may appear
unprofessional. Mr. Charles Wade, ot'this city, was
quite low with Pulmonary Consumption, lor which 1
had been treating with less than usual success. At
his request, and rlyit of his friends, I permitted him
to try Dr. Rogers’ Liverwort and Tar ; and I must
confess that its eifects were really surprising. Alter
using the second bottle my visitB were discontinued,
and ho was soon restored to health. I do con
scientiously recommend my brother practitioners to
! this remedy in u!l
prescribe this remedy in uil pulmonary complaints
which bailie the ordinary mode of treatment.

A certain remedy for all fixed pains in the Side,
Chest, Loins, Back, Bowels, Muecle.v Rheumatism in
all its varied forms, Nervous Att’octi, ns, Lungs and
Liver Complaints, Spinal Affections, I- -male Weak
nesses, etc., etc. For the above complaints this Plas
ter has no equal. The great celebrity which it has
already acquired, not only in the old, but in the new
world, the extraordinary cures it has performed in
the most extreme cases of suffering, have acquired
for it such a reputation, that the proprietor has not
until recently been able to supply half the demand.
The sales throughout every city, town and village
In the United States, are without a parallel I
A circumstance not surprising, when the vast a-
mount of human suffering relieved by its use is con
sidered. In spinal Defects, the benefit usunily is of
the most decided character. In Nervous Complaints,
nineteen cases out of twenty readily yield to the pen
etrating stimula combined in this valuable prepara
tion.
In Rheumatism, either acute or chronic, the claims
of the Hebrew Plaster have long since been univer
sally acknowledged. Those who are laboring under
weak backs, no matter from whut cause the weakness
may have originated—«ven if such persons have been
misguided in previous applications in the use of the
Hebrew Plaster they will find the affected part sud
denly restored to its original soundness.
As a supporter in cases of constitutional weakness
it will be found of great advantage. It is particular
ly recommended to Females who are guttering from
sudden weakness, or general debility, in short, it
embraces all the virtues which the mostscientilic mind
was capable of compounding from valuable substan
ces found in the old world, and wiil be found entire
ly free from those objections which are a source of
complaint with the numerous spread-plasters now
before thp public.
These plasters possess the advantage of be
ing put up in air tight boxes—hence they retain their
full virtues in all climates.
Beware of Counterfeits and Base Imitations.
None genuine without the engraving of Lew David
on the wrapper around each box. Price 50 cents per
box. Each box contains sufficient to spread six or
eight plasters.

TURNER’S
Compound Fluid Ex-tract of Conyza and
StyUingla.
T HIS preparation is a Concentrated Extract, con
tabling all the Active Medical Properties of the
Conyza, (commonly known as Black Root,) and tho
Styllingia, or Queen's Delight.
These plants have been long used among our South
era Negroes, and recently by tho Medical Profession,
with the happiest results, in cases of Chronic Rheu
matism, Ulcers of long standing, and Secondary
Syphilis. It is much superior to uny preparation of
Sarsaparilla as an alterative, being more active and
prompt in its operation on the system. These facta
have induced the subscribers to present to the atten
lion of Physicians a fluid extract prepared strictly ac
cording to Chemical and Parmaeeurioal science, de
void ot nil the feculent and inert parts of the roots,
not doubting that it willsuperaede the unscientific and
c rude preparations hitherto used.
Price—81 per bottle, or six bottles for 85.
