meet the other Frenchmen, whom they saw coming aft,
who told them that he was now Master of the ship, and

Every day brings us freffi accounts of the horrors of the

dreadful iury. The blood runs cold with the atrocities that
are committed. There are letters in town which give an
account of the maflacre of two Magistrates who had been
aclive in the fupprefiion of the United Iriftimcn, and with
circumdances that have spread terror over all the neighbor

March 16. Yesterday morning, at 8 o’clock, two of
his Majedy’s Mefivngers, attended by two Police Officers,
went to the lioufe of Mr. E rails in Plough court, Fetter
lane, and apprehended Benjamin Binns, the brother of John
Binns, now confined in the Tower, and Alexander Gallo
way, formerly Secretary to the Goirefponding Society.
They were taken in bed, the officers having burst open the
door of the. apartment in which they slept. Binns, whose
papers were likewise seized, had only arrived in town four
days since from Ireland, where he received information of
the officers being in search of him in less than 48 hours
after his brother and the other prisoners were committed to
the Tower.
Galloway had a lodging at Pimlico, but having spent the
evening with Binns, in company with Mr. Evans, lie a
greed to day the night, not being apprehensive the officers
would again visit Mr. Evans’s house.
At 9 o’clock in the evening the Members of the Privy
Council met at the Duke of Portland's office, when Mr.
Evans was brought up in order to be admitted to bail; but
the two persons who attended for the purpose of entering
into a recognizance for his appearance not being approved
of he was remanded into custody.
.The Council then proceeded to the examination of Binhs
ind Galloway; the former was discharged at 11 o’clock.
Galloway was next interrogated by the Council, and he
was afterwards committed to the cudody of Mr. Hooper,
one of the King’s Mo (Ungers, for further examination.

ANSWER.
Gentlemen,
The French prisoners are penetrated with the mod lively
gratitude for your beneficence. What pleasure does it af
ford them to find men humane and generous enough to take
part in their misfortunes!
O! that I could express the lively sensations which your
