,|uired to build one of these mills, with a great many
men, will not exceed that of the cotton machine now
in use in this State, for when the farmer can have
much of the work done in building a cotton machine,
he can also have much nf tho work done itt building
one ol tliese mills, and thereby save the paying out ol
seine two or three hundred dollars. It is believed that
one good draught horse will saw the rise ol a thousand
feet of timber in a day : at any rate, the inventor nf this
improvement will warrant two horses to cut twelve
hundred feet iu the day, and these horses to stand the
labor us well or better than they do in picking of cot
ton. In a reasonable time there will he a model made
nnd kepi in Columbus, whore it may he seen.

country, nnd whose title has not been decided upon

the Columbus Land Company, ami likewise to the
stockholders in said company who have drawn lands
