This Plough is now the LEADING PLOUGH in the
Middle and Cotton States. Among the hundreds of
testimonials we have from practical farmers and
planters, we w r ould call attention to the following ex
tract from a letter received from Col. B. G. Loekett,
of the large planting firm of Jordan & Lockett, da
ted Albany, Ga., Nov. 27, ’69: “ Before closing this
letter, I cannot refrain from expressing my sincere
thanks to you, for the invention of the best plough
now in use. It is the delight of the negro. Besides
doing the best work I have ever seen any plough do,
it runs with more ease to the ploughman, and the
draught to the animal is lighter than any plough I have
ever seen. Your plough has already become a neces
sity to me, and I would feel ruined without it. lam
satisfied we have saved thousands of dollars annually,
“iirmuleiTalbbe. It is the cheapest plough I have ev
er used of any kind or description. lam anxious
to bring, if I can, to the notice of my fellow planters
this most valuable plough.”
Col. Lockett commenced the use of these ploughs
in the spring of 1868, and now has more than 250 of
them on his plantation. We have testimonials as em
phatic from other leading farmers in North Carolina,
jSouth Carolina, Georgia, Alabama and Texas, of
which the following are specimens :
Warsaw, North Carolina; July 11th, 1868.
Messes. Watt & Knight —l am so much pleased
with your Ploughs that I would like to see them on
every farm in rry I consider them not only
the best Plough I ever saw, but the cheapbst ; for
when you have the Watt Plough with all of its parts,
you then have a plough suitable for any kind of work.
I shall use no other as long as I can get them.
Very respectfully, W. A. FAISON.
