In a I disorders arising from an impure or

The discovery of this medicine has been the
effect of long and attentive study, and it is

power in eradicating those diseases, after every
other medicine hat failed.
It cannot, however, be supposed, that this

will often fail in the very diseases for which
they are considered specifics; but if the use of
it be persevered in, it will radicallv remove si*

VALUABLE MEDICINE.
T OTTAWA
Vegetable Catholicon.
rpiIE Hiibscrib^r respectfully solicits the at
LL tention of every friend of suffering Im
mwnity, to lo the above new and invaiuabli-
remedy, whose unequal powers in eliminating
from the system the very seeds of disease,
and in restoring the deranged and morbid
condition of the organs of life to a free and
healthy exercise of their functions, has exci
ted the astonishment, and completely silen
red the objections nf the most incrtdulous.—
Facts are the best arguments. In order to put
the virtues of toe Uatholicon to as severe s
scrutiny as possible, it was offered by adver
tisement, together with the attendance of a
physician, gratuitously to any oerson who
would apply for it, on.) whose cause might
seem to come within the range of its healing
power—numbers nf severe cases of long stA-.d-
ing, ands’une of them seemingly derncralc
ones, pre ented themselves, all of which have
been cured, or so much relieved as to warrant
'he assertion that a little perseverance will d >
so. In fact, such is the confidence of the physi
cian under whose care these patients were
placed, in this remedy, a confidence resum
ing from the irresistible conviction that his
been forced upon his mind by ocular demon*
si ration, and a personal trial of it on himself
that he permits nte to declare It as his deci
ded opinion, that the Calholicon is not only a
perfectly s-fe anil innocent, but a most pow
ertul and invalusb'.e remedy in certain dis
eases and states of the svs'.em, such as the ful

The Catholicon (which the propricter sol

uf vegetable matter) with the exception of a
sl'ght deter mi ihtion to the bowels, which it
preserves ia a soluble state, acts insensibly, i
pleasant to the taste, and requires n<> particu

the present propitious stage of mv disease
About live years ago, on tuy passage fro;
Hortlcatix, during the month of January, from
■mprudent exposure on deck, 1 was seized
with a violent fever. Having no medical at
tendants on board, I was compelled to bear
it, as I might for two weeks, when on my ar

the fever, but Plicsnix-like, the tet minatio:
of this gave ris- to a disease equally distress

come appearance, particulrrlyon the joints,
which were swelled to an enormous size.—
These g'adually subsided into hard tu-nors,
•me uf which 011 my left knee affected the
bone—an incision was now made ami a large
evacuation of tuts, mixed with pieces of hone
took place. 1 -i addition to this, I suffered the
nuts* excruciating pains in my joints that man
ever exp ritnccd. Every thing that wss

which inu- .used with every succeeding year.
Such was my paintuiai uatton that I despaired
of ever being restored to my heal h ; Iliad
not only tried the tegular means of relief,
but uied, though in vain, every popular rcm.

of which I have tried in vain more remedies
than 1 can name, are rapidly decreasing ; my
appetite, which was gone, has returned—I am
in fact, nearly well, and feel confident that a
few bottles more of your, (to me) invaluable
medicine, will make me perfectly to.

Sir—I «m now, thanks to your medicine, a
hearty mar. For nearly aix years I have been
s martyr to a disease, whose ravages threat
ened, if not soon stopped, to put a period to
my existence. Having had no regular medi
cal advice from the commencement, my
complaint at last got to auch a height that I
could not swallow without great pain and
difficulty. Tumors formed in different parts
of my body, and I began to think my situation
almost draperste. The five bottles of the
Cathoheon which I have taken have com
pletely cured me, aud 1 am now as well aa I
couid with lobe. With my thanks.
