Zi n Ol H own Amiits.—Wc have the pleasure,
day, of presenting tho Georgian to our readers, In
i\v and bonmiful uress, principally from the Foundry
!. White, Esq. ofNow York.
_ ic steady and liberal patronage which has hitherto
ru received by the Georgian, nnd which has boon
imire gratelid because tendered freely, and w ithout
citation on our part, demands our sincere aeknow-
^nicnts. .4s the only and proper return in our pv"‘*
it has over been our aim, regardless of espcii'ii*, not
10 to render our publication worthy of its patrons by
ineSS in its typographical cmbolushiucnts ; but by
exorcise of an industry which hn9 never tired, to
indcr it Uio medium of the earliest and most correct ill-
[lligonci*, to the commercial community, and by the
ipport of wlmt wo boliovo to be correct political doe-
inus, to advance the true interests of uur nativo stato,
id the gtipiral prosperity of our happy country.
In our Nows Iloom will always bo found the latest
Wiors from all parts of the Union, either by regular
morse of Mail, or by vessel, nnd u|»on our Ilullgtiu any
Intclligenco of interest received by extra sheet or other
wise, 1 with a report of arrivals ut this port as soon as
received, .
Tim advertising patronage of a newspaper is that
ipon which it is principally dependent for support, and
ivliich of course, wuuru most anxious to sccuio. Tim
'loorgianlms fur many years received a largo proportion
>f these ogrevahtu and interesting articles of mer-
Jantilo intollificiiflo ; and as it is tlio evident interest
if every individual when paying for the insertion
.»f his advertisement to secure tho most extensive cur
rency to it,lliat being tho value received for his expendi
ture, it is duo both to ourselves nud our friunds to say,
I hut uur circulation is more extensive than any daily
publication in this Stale, and that our now type,
which comprises a handsome assortment of the ornamen
tal, us well ns the plain material, will unable us to dis
play their favors to the best advantage.
ICP Mr. Uforge Itonrivrsov, formerly ®ditor «f
