Whereas, from the Increased commerce or tbe
Port of Bavaunuh tho duties of tbo Health Officer
are greatly increase'll aud the salary has not boou
iucreasud during Uie last thirty years:,
Sec. 1. He it ordaiued by the Mayor und Aldor-
meu of tlio city of Savaunah aud tbe Hamlets there
of hi Council us embted, and it is hereby ordained
by tbo authority of the sutue, That from aud alter
tho passage ot this Ordii.utico tbo salary of tbe
Health Officer bo at the rate of live hundred dol
lars.
Sec. 2. Unit further ordained by the Mayor abd
Aldermen of tho City of.-a vannah and tbe Hamlets
thereof iu Council assembled, and it is beroby or
dained by authority of tho Fame, Ibat tho fees of
tho H-ultli Officer (which shall be puld by tbe
owner, musier, or consigucoof any vessel) shall

For hoarding any vessel lying at (lie quarantine
ground, at Fort Juekson. two cents a ton up to 660
tons, beyond which uo additional fee shall be

Incurred for boarding any vessel shall be paid by
the Health Officer, except that tho city will furnish
a quarantine boa*.
For visiting aud inspecting a vessel which has
been subjected to quarantine, and giving a permit
