Convention met at St. Andrew’a Hall, at 7
o'clock-
Mr. J. H. Howard, of Columbus, offered a
resolution of thank, to Snvunnah, In her mnnb
clpal character, and to the eltlaen. Individually,
This resolution called forth laeveral compli
mentary speeches from members of tho differ
ent delegations—to Savannah—to Georgia, and
from tho younger speaker., to the ladlys—a
goodly number of whom we were pleased to
see In attendance. The resolution wunnani-
inously adopted.

two guns,' which rnado a successful attack
