farijh of St. Philip , and empowering Comm : fflonrr t to establish Ferries to andfrm
the Town ofSunoury, and also for laying out a P.oad from the Town of ifuce’fle
rougb to join a Road direßed by a former Ad cf the General Affmbly to hr laid
out frdm Horse-Ct ttk to the Newington Road, end fer clearing the River Great-
Ogee bee. 1

the following SPEECH to both Houses of Assembly, vix.
• Honourable Gentlemen,
I THANK you for the great and very proper attention you have given
to the publick business during this feflion.
And, Mr. Speaker, and Gentlemen of the Assembly,
1 am to thank you for the supplies you have granted for the service of
the present year ; but there it one thing that 1 recommended to you which
has proved usfucctfsful, J mean the bill relative to Indian affair*, the
utility and necessity of which (if poflible) appear* more and more every
day • however, as the season is so far advanced, f cannot now recommend
it to your reronfidtfration, but hope every gentleman will, during the
aecefj inform and prepare himfdf in such a manner that, at our next

the plan of the land', claimed by the late Sir William Baker, deceaf*d,
and (he manorial accompanying it which was transmitted to him 40 b
