Major Hillyer has introduced a resolu
tion to hare the oonduct of Foster Blod
gett and his associate* inquired into.
This will, of ooane, be done. With
Committee of the Legislature, clothed
with power to oompel the attendance of
witnesses, and the production of books
and pipers, and such assistance sa can be
rendered by others, tho bottom of dis
honesty sea be reoobed. We learn that
Major Hargrove and Major McCalls, who
have done ao much to ferrpt out the ras
cality, arc able to point out the locality
of a very largo amount of property
rightfully belonging to the State—much
of which can be toco rod and saved.
The election of our fellow-citiren, T.
W. J. Hill, to the Secretaryship of the
Senate wee as surprising to the people of
this city as it was a compliment well
deserved. Very few of bis per
sonal friends here knew that be
was a candidate, He is a gentleman fa
vorably known by all, and will fill the
office satisfactorily.
CoL Waddell is a talented gentleman
end superior officer. Mr. Carrington,
his is one of the most aoetuaie
and efficient man in Georgia.

the General Assembly.
