Children’s Diabetes
Support Group
... Do you have a school
age child with diabetes? I am
interested in forming a fel
lowship group for children
and their parents coping with
this disease.
The idea is to get together
periodically for fun events,
fund-raising and diabetes
advocacy work and most
importantly to let the chil
dren know they are not tack
ling this alone.
We can divide the group
by age if appropriate. This is
also a great way for teenage
diabetics to pick up some
baby-sitting jobs.

Think First Injury
Prevention program
... Each year, about
12,000 people in the U.S.
will become paralyzed by
spinal cord injuries, and
another 500,000 will acquire
a brain injury.
Fifty percent of these
injuries will happen to young
people between the ages of
15 and 24. By working with
area middle and high
schools, a young person with
a spinal cord injury educates
students on avoiding vio
lence and promoting safety
in driving, diving, hunting,
bicycle riding to reduce the
number of spinal cord and
brain injuries.
