'Forsyth?County Fire Capt. Brian Wilson was recently honored for com
pletingthe National Fire Academy’s Exgcutive Fire Officer Program. The
‘program provides participants with a broad perspective on various fac
ets of;fire and emergency services administration. Over a four-year
span, they complete resident graduate-level and upper-level college
equivalent courses-and research. Wilson, who works in the training divi
sion g@nd has been with the department since 2000, is one of just 53 fire

Janice Marie Newberry
Janice Marie Newberry, age 75, of
Marietta passed away Sunday, June
28, 2015. : :
Janice had a.heart of service which
included volunteering her time at
‘many charities and Well Star at Cobb,
all of this while being a devoted wife,
loving mother, caring sister and amaz
ing friend.
She is preceded in death by her hus
band, Frank; her parents, Buel and Lula
Sexton; and brother, Emory Sexton.
Survivors include her daughter, Trish
Longmire of Acworth; grandchildren,
Shane (Channa) Longmire, Jennifer
Gamel, and Niki Longmire; great
grandchildren, Evan-Cacomanolis,
Kodi Gamel, Shyanne Gamel, Trey
McGarity; sisters, Nancy Knight of
Dawson, Joyce Wigley, and Dianne
Carnes, both of Cumming.
Funeral services will be held
Wednesday, July 1, at 2 p.m. at the
Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with the
Rev. Joey Wigley officiating. Interment
will follow at Sawnee View Gardens.
The family will receive friends
Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the time
of the service. ;

Frank B. (Big Daddy) Pounds Sr.
Frank B. (Big Daddy) Pounds Sr.,
age 91, of Cumming passed away
Saturday, June 27, 2015. .
A-U.S. Army veteran, Mr. Pounds
served in World War 11. He was a for
mer member and Ordained Deacon at
Sylvan Hills Baptist Church and cur
rently a member of First Baptist
Church of Cumming. Mr. Pounds
retired after 44 years -with NABISCO.
He was an emeritus member of
Capitol View Lodge #640 F&AM,
32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason and
a member of Yaarab Shrine.
‘Survivors include his -wife of 67
years, Hallie Hogue Pounds; son and
daughter-in-law, Frank B. and Susie
Pounds .of Cumming; daughter,
Pamela Pounds Bell; grandchildren,
Jacqueline Pounds (Scott) Mann,
Melinda Pounds (Mark) Gillespie,
Thomas Frank (Sarah) Bell Jr.; great
grandchildren, Hunter Thomas Bell,
Callie Jayne Gillespie, James Thomas
(Trey) Bell, Madilynn Michelle
Gillespie, Kayla Elise Gillespie; sev
eral nieces, nephews and other rela
tives. ;
Services were held Tuesday, June
30, at 11 a.m. at the Ingram Funeral
Hoime Chapel with Dr. Bob Jolly offi
ciating. Interment, with Military
Honors, followed at Sawnee View
Gardens. ;

Cecil Tidwell : :
Cecil Tidwell, age 65, of Cumming
passed away Saturday, June 27, 2015.
He is preceded in death by his par
ents, Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Lee Tidwell
Sr. and seven siblings.
Cecil is survived by his wife, Hilda
Tidwell; brothers, Darrell Tidwell of
Tennessee, Jerry Tidwell of Acworth;
brother and sister-in-law, Bobby and
Diane Tidwell of Lithia Springs; sisters,
Donna Bennett of Acworth, Judy
Morgan of Acworth; sister-in-law, Ella
Tidwell of Cumming; brother-in-law,
Joseph Lamb of Cumming; sister-in-law
and brother-in-law, Sarah and David
Sosebee of Dahlonega; and other loving
relatives and friends.
Services were held Monday, June 29,
at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Ingram
Funeral Home with the Revs. Danny
Bennett, Danny Ray Martin and
Johnathan Haight officiating. Interment
followed at Sawnee View Memorial
Gardens. :
