And it is hereby further ordained , That the officers above
mentioned, ihall fettle their accounts monthly, agreeably to
such forms and vouchers as fHa.ll be preferibed by the comp
troller of the treasury. -
And it is hereby further ordainedy That the officers frail
enter into bonds to the United States in Congress aflembled,
for the faithful execution ofthe trust reflectively reposed in
them, in the manner and amount following, viz.
The assay matter, in the sum of ten thousand dollars, and
two furetics each in the sum of five thousand duhars.
The matter coiner in the sum of ten thousand dollars, and
twofureties, each in the sum of five thousand dollars.
And that the officers mentioned in this ordinance, as well
as every other perl'on employed in tue mint, frail take and
fubferibe the oath of Office, ettablifred by the resolve of the
i4.fr March, 1786.
And it is hereby further ordainedy That it frail be
the duty-of the comptroller of the treasury of 'report
monthly to-the commifiionera of the treasury of the United
States, a ft ate men t of the mint accounts adjnttcd agreeably
to the usual forms ; and if on such ttateinent or other infor
mation it frail appear, that there has been any negletff, mis
management or abuse of trust, in any of the officers mentio
ned in the within ordinance, itttialfbethe dutyofthecom
miffioners of the board of treasury to fufpehd such officer or
officers and to report therepn specially to Congress.
And it is hereby further ordainedy That fre copper coin
fhutk under the authority of the United States in Congress
assembled, frail be receioable in all taxes, or payments due
to the United States, in the proportion of five dollars for
every hundred dollars so paid.; but that no odJfcc copper eoin
whatsoever fliall be receiveable in any ftaxes or payment
whatsoever to the United States.
And nuhsreasy The great quantities of bast copper cojn
daily imported into/ or manufaftured within the several
states, is become so highly injurious to the interest ahi com.
Ilierce ofthe fame, as to require the immediate interposition
of the powers vetted by the confederation in the United States
iu Congress aflembled, of regulating the value of the
coin so current as aforefaid.
It is hereby ordainedy That no foreign copper coin what*
soever, frail after the firft day of September 1787, be cur
rent within the United States of America : And that no cop
per coinflruckunder'the authority of a particular ttate, frail
pass at a greater value than one federal dollar for two pounds
and one quarter of a pound avoirdupois weight of such cop*
per coin.

queued and impowered from time to time, to make such issues
of Money out ofthe said fund of L 30,000 and premote such
further arrangements for thefervice of this State in the pre

In a Conference yesterday between his Honnor the Gover
nor in Council and this Board, some doubts appeared to exist
witht hat body refpefting the propriety of their ereating the
following Officer?, which appearto both Boards indifpeufably
neccffary to wit: a Commandant of Horse, a Commiflary of
lifues, an Infpedor of thejAnny and a Paymaster : Whereupon
Rejolved, That it be recommended by this Board to his
Honor the Governor in Council to proceed to the appointment
of the above Officers under this refti i<3ion that they be not
intitled to any pay as such until they refpeCiiveiy enter upon
the duties of their Officers. *

Applications for payment of No;es given by other
peilons for the Delivery of his Bonds, without his knowledge.
And also for payment of Notes given by himfeif to fondry
Persons for which he has in foine iuftances fettled or procured
legal claims against. He therefore requests thole poneued of
his Bonds or Notes, which have been pajied away by the
persons to whom they were orginallv given, to bring them in
by tjic hrrt day of February next, at which time he will attend
at Augulta, lor the purpole, of fettling or liquidating the
fame.—All foofc indebted to him are deiired to make pay*
m on or before that day in his own Bonds or Caih, ottier
wijie, ftiits will be commenced against them, and such Notes
for the delivery of his Bonds as have or may fall imo his
hands previous thereto, he experts will then be taken up or
suits will accordingly be brought upon them.

Richmond,-—Whereas Joseph Pannell of Wilkes County
and James Fox Richmond County, have made Application
to me to grant them letters of Administration on the Estate
and Efferts of Johu Bacon of Richmond County and State
' deceased. These are therefore to cite and admonish
all and Angular the Kindred and Creditors of the said John
Bacon deceased, that they be and appear before me at my
Office on the 15th day of January next, to then Cause. if any
tl.«;y have why the said letters of Administration should not
