A Hanker In Journalism,

Mr. De Witt Sellgmau, of the well known
family of bankers, is about to establish a
weekly paper in this city to deal with live
issues of the day, particularly those of a
political character. Mr. Seligman has
plenty of money and Is anxious to make a
good paper, and with the right man as
editor there is nothing to prevent his do
ing so. The first issue will probably appear
some time in October, and from what [
hear of its projector’s intentions it will be
welcomed to a. place which may bo said to
be uutilled.—New York Critic.
From n Minister,
Rev. C. T. Clark, a member of the South
Georgia Methodist Conference, writes from
Tattnall county, Ga.: “One year ago I was
taken with rheumatism, and bocnme al
most helpless for over three months. All
the remedies used Beemed to fail until I
commenced the use of Swift’s Specific. I
have taken five bottles, and am perfectly
sound and well again. I would have writ
ten sooner, but waited to see if the cure
was permanent. And now I unhesitating
ly recommend S. S. S. as a safe and reliable
remedy for rheumatism. I have all confi
dence in its virtue.”

treatment (and 1 tried several) until I com

so long. Now
all the sores and swellings from my head
are gone. S. W. McCabteb.

A Timely Hint.
“I feel as if I were in heaven!” said an

What a Spartanburg physician has to
say in praise of Westmoreland’t Calisaya
Tonic:
"I am delighted with the benefit I havo
derived from taking Calisaya Tonic. I
consider it, an excellent preparation. My
health is now better than it has been for
years. It tones up the stomach, and gives
life and vigor to tne whole system.”

Messrs. Westmoreland Bros.—Gentle
men: Having been a confirmed dyspeptic
for years, receiving no relief from the best
medical attendance, or the numerously
advertised “patent medicines,” I tried
your “Calisaya Tonic,” which I consider
the best preparation before the public,
having given mo instant relief after years
ofsuflering. Yours truly,

Ely’s Cream Balm was recommended to
me by my druggist as a preventative to
hay fever. Have been using it as directed
since the 9th of August, ana have found it

some disease. For ten years or more I
have been a great sufferer each year, from
August 9th till frost, and have tried many
alleged remedies for its cure, but Ely’s
Cream Balm is the only preventative I
have ever found. Hay rover sufferers
ought to know of its efficacy.

A countryman from a considerable dis

Brooklyn bridge, looking up at what will
be the most leisurely-built structure in the

“Why, Mr. Balcolm, when did you come

A sort of caug'ht-with-a-bobtailed-flush
expression came over the young man’s face,
and he mingled with the hurrying throng.
