The regular meeting of the Dowd of Health was
held last trveniag at the Council Chamber. John D.

Mr. Philip M. Rnseell objected tothe confirmation of
the minutee on aootmnt of ttie action of the previous
meeting.on the 11th Sole of the Board, and a lengthy
and somewhat, excited discussion upon a point of
order followed, all arising out of ihe question whether
a refusal to confirm the minutes of a previous meeting
was equivalent to a reconsideration of the action of
that meeting. The lltb Rule is that which provides
for dispensing of aid to indigent people by the Board.
The minutes were finally confirmed, excepting the
passage relating to the action on the 11th Rule.
The week’s reports of the,several committees of
the feo«rd were then received! The condition of the
various wards of the city were reported upon, show
^ng the city to he, on the whole, in a fair sanitary con
dition. A number of citizens wore placed on the in
formation docket for having privies in an improper
condition. The lane in the rear of the Marshall

inferior Court of Chatham County.
The case of John Arthur end Tbonms Pitman was
brought before the Inferior Court of Chateam County
yesterday, by virtue ol a writ of habeas corpus issued
tv the Interior Court in their favor.
It appears that Arthur and Pitman were arreeted in
Enisuuei county on the 2utli of .March 1806, by the
f. S. military authorities upon the complaint of a
nfgro who alleged that they hud stolea his mules.

the Superior Court room. Justices Levi S. Hart

Jr. Esq., acting as Solicitor General,
