Among our prominent patrons during tha past year
has been the firm of T. J. Dunbar & Co., 147 Bay
street, wholesale importers and dealers fn brandies,
whiskies, gins, wines, ales, cigars, Ac. This Is a naw
Arm. established here since the war, but it haa suc
ceeded far beyond the average of new establishments.
It was started with plenty of capital, good facilities ter
a constant and complete replenishment of atock, and
with the determination to build up u good, safe and
permanent bnstuess. with small margin for profit, as
little risk as possible, and the security to regular pi-
troua of every advantage they were able to afford
them. The firm was liberal ill advertising, at the
start and ever since, not only in Savannah, but all
over the State, in South Carolina and Florida. The
reanlt is, they have secured a large permanent pa.
trouage in the city, and wherever they have attempted
to Introduce their goods. They have several speciali
ties, which they announce from time to time in their
advertisements, and in all of which they have suc
ceeded. Wo have known Air. Harvov A. Stults, the
managing partner here, for several years, and can re-
commend him as a man of strict busiueaa Integrity
and much mercantile enterprise.
Tile < liolern at Tybee Abating,
Wc learn from Tybee that there was only one death
from cholera among the soldiers yesterday, and that
there were no new cases. We understand that tha
remaining eases are doing well and that the Surgeon
does not apprehend any further spread of the disease.
The passengers ou board the San Salvador are
healthy, no case of cholera having occurred among
them.

A Grateful Showeh.—After several days of ex

yesterday afternoon with a refreshing fall of rain, ac
companied with some thunder and lightning. The
thirsty earth soon absorbed the water, vegetation wore
a fresher aspect, and the atmosphere was sensibly
oooler after the shower.

Not only In this country, but In all other lands to
which commerce bears our (lag. the peculiar merits
of the article are known and appreciated. It has ,
been found suited to all climates, all localities, and i
the needs of every class of society. Compounded of :
the purest vegetable Ingredients, unalloyed with any
mineral salt or corrosive vegetable alkaloid, and com
bining the properties of a WHOLESOME STO
MACHIC, a GENTLE LAXATIVE, and an efficient
ANTI-BILIOUS AGENT, It Is endorsed by practical
Chemists as the safest, and by unprejudiced physi

The nature of Its components Is the guarantee of
Ita harmlessnesa. It consists of the stimulating prin
ciple of sound Rye, medicated with the finest tonic,
anti febrile, aperient, anti-scorbutic, and anti-spas- i
modlc herbs, roots and barks that botanical research i
has yet developed for the use of man. Every vegeta- i

To Dyspeptic Smfferers. j
Under the general head of Dyspepsia may be classed -
all the varieties of Indigestion. Ita symptoms are 1
to various, and differ ao much in different individuals
thstlt Ir almost impossible to classify them. In fact,
some of them are utterly Indescribable. It may be '
safely asserted, however, flat ball tlie dtaeaeef or;
mankind spring from a disordered condition of the |
stomach; and that the other halt whatever their,
origin, react upon that sensitive ami Important or ,
gan. Among the ordinary indications of Dyepepslfi'
are flatulence, a bloated ami full feeling about the
stomach and abdomen Immediately after eating, a ,
gnawing sensation or a senve of hollowness at tho
pit of the stomach between meals, a beavv dull feel
ing In the head, feeble or unsteady appetite, occa- •
slouai nausea, restlessness daring night and s weary,
onrefreahed feeling on rl9ingln the morning, palpita- i
tlon of the heart, depression of mind, sometimes
amounting to monomania, loss of memory, confu
sion of thought, sour stomach, with raising of food. '
and a choking sensation in the throat, dimness of
eye, palQ in the diaphragm, feebleness and disincll.

signs of Dyspepsia, but an it Is generally complicated
with specific affections of the liowVls, the liver aud ,
the reives, Its victims have many additional torments ,
which are technically attributed to oilier causes. |
The best advice that can be given to any one who .
has the slightest predUpoiifioii to Dyspepsi;', Is to Tor- j

In good working order, and can perfectly dissolve

do this. It requires reinforcement, and the best of all ;
reinforcing agents should be forthwith resorted to. :

Hostetter’s Stomach Bitters,
This belief is grounded on twelveyeais’ experience’
of the efficacy of the preparation. The first instance !
of Its failure to give relief Is yet unchronicled. If It
ever bad failed, the Volaminons correspondence ad |
droned to the proprietom from nil parts of the United ■
States and South America. would at least include I
'ono letter expressing diasatlafaci Ion. Bat no, there j
is not one. The testimony, extending over a period j
of more than a -dozen years, ts all of the approving
tenor. Oertainly this la a sufficient warrant for
claiming that the BITTERS are a SPECIFIC FOR
INDIGESTION IN ALL ITS VARIETIES.
Hostetter’s Bitters
AS a
Household Medicine.
It Is a great fallacy to suppose that the nauseous-
nesa of a medicine ls any proof of Its value as a res
torative. The truth la, that U the palate revolts
against a remedy, It cannot do much good -,
HOSTETTER’S BITTERS
Are not unpleasant to the taste, and always soothe
and quiet, instead of Irritating the stomach, indeed
they are tha best known preventative of and curs for
nausea. Their usefulness as a family specific can
scarcely be overrated. Eor sickness at the stomach,
sudden spasms, wind colic, hysterica, nervous head
ache, lassitude, low spirit,, ami the thousand and
one little ailments that are continually occurring In
every family, there ls nothing comparable to them. A
whole medicine cheat rull of tinctffrsa, csaences, pow
ders, and pUla, ls not worth s single bottle of the
BITTERS Id snch cases.
