Mr. uasey moved to reoooaider the action
of the Senate in rejecting the bill to define
and prescribe the liabilities of tbe stock
holders of banks in this State. Carried.

That from aud after the first day of November, in-

To prevent the erection of awning posts and sign

standing; to prescribe the mode and manner of
constructing awnings and tatening signs, and to
affix certain penalties for the vtotauon of this or
dinance.
Section 1. The Mayor and Aldermen of tha City
of Savannah, in Council assembled, do hereby ordain,
That, from aud after the passage of this ordinance. It
shall not be lawful for any person td put cp or ereet,
:in any street or thoroughfare within the City of Sa
vannah, any post or ereotioo for the support of any
awning or sign, whether such awning. or sign be uf
doth or wood, or any other material, under a penalty
or not morn tnau five dollars a day for every day snob

To encourage the building of Cese-venlts with com-

Whebeas, Experience has shown that the existence
,f privies ur sinks in the city of Savannah, on the
plan of those now commonly in use, is greatly preju
dicial to health. And, whereas, the comfort of the in
habitants aud the interests ot tbe cily require that all
proper efforts be made, by the aaUyonlies of the place,
to makb Savannah what nature intends ber, one of the

Section 1. The Mayor ami aldermen of the City of
Savannah, in-Council assembled, do ordain. That the
City of Savannah hereby pledge itself to the peymesl
of one half the cost ol every cess-vault,, with commn-
