of Savannah, in Council assembled, do hereby ordain.
That, from end after the passage of this ordinance, it
shaU not b. lawful tor any person to pot tip or erect,
in any street or thoroughfare within the City of Sa
vannah, any poet or erection for the support of any
awning or sign, whether such awning or sign be of
cloth or wood, or any other material, under a penalty
of not more than five dollars a day tor every day tush
earning or sign post shall be or remain in any such
street or thoroughfare.
Section 3. And It is farther ordained by the antho-
tached to the building for which lt may be Intended
by iron or allter strong and substantial metalic brack
et or rapport, which, with rack awning or sign, shall
be so arranged aa not to interfere with -naiklng or
travel on the sidewalk, street or thoroughfare, under
the penalty-mentioned In the preceding section for
every day’s violation of any paawiaiou at this section.
Section 3. And it is farther ordained by the antho*
rity aforesaid. That it shall be toe duty of every per
son owning, having or asing any awning or aigu-post
of the kind crAescripUoa in tbe preceding first sec-
awning nr sign-past | and that all ordinances and
parts of ordiaannaa. so far as they militate with this
ordinance, are hereby repealed.
