LEGAL NOTICES.
Jackson Superior Court, Feb. Term, 1827.
RULE NISI.
O N the application of L. F. E. Dugas, shewing
to the Court, that William Edmonson, on the
29th of January, 1824, made his certain Mortgage of
that date to your applicant, whereby to secure to
him the sum of One Hundred Dollars, on or before
the 29th of July, 1824, he, the said William, Mortgag
ed to your applicant the following described Tract of
Land, to wit; lying and being in the County of Jack-
son and State of Georgia, containing one hundred
one and one half acres, being half of a grant made to
Elisha Lake of two hundred and three acres, the
half butting and bounding as follows: beginning on
a w’hite oak corner, on the branch on Jonathan
Smith’s line, running north east to a pine corner on
said Smith’s line, thence South to a white oak cor
ner on the branch on John Smith’s line, thence South
west to a post oak comer on said Smith’s line, then<*e
on Burgin’s line, to the beginning comer. And that
there is due on said Mortgage the sum of One Hun
dred Dollars with interest from the 29th of July,
1324 ; and praying the foreclosure of the Equity of
Redemption of, in and to said Mortgaged premises.—
On motion, Orddrcd, Tnat the said Mortgagor pay
into Court the principal and interest due on said
Mortgage, together with the cost, within twelve
months from this date, else the Equity of Redemp
tion of, in and to said Mortgaged nremises will be
thenceforth forever barred and forclosed.—And it is
further ordered, That a copy of this Rule be publish
ed in some public gazette of this State or served
upon the Mortgager according to the statute in such
cases made and provided.

Henry Hardin, vs. Thomas Payne, Joseph Dunlap, and
Janies H. Little, Executors of Asa Ayres, deceased
TTPON the petition of Henry Hardin, stating that
U he is in possession of bond, given by Asa
Ayres to him, said Hardin, on the thirty-first day of
October, eighteen hundred and twenty-two, for one
thousand dollars, conditioned to be void if the said
Asa should make good and sufficient titles to Lot of
Land number one hundred and forty-eight, in the
ninth district of Monroe county, on or before the
first day of April then next; and it being stated and
made appear to the court that said Hardin has paid
the consideration money, and that said Asa depart
ed this life before making titles, and a copy of the
Bond being filed in the Clerk’s office of this court,—
It is on motion, Ordered, That the said Thomas
Payne, Joseph Dunlap, and James H. Little, execu
tors of said Asa Ayres, do shew cause, on the first
Monday in September next, why they should not b©
directed to make titles to said land, described in said
bond, to said Henry Hardin, in terms of the statute
in such case made and provided. And it is further
ordered, that a copy of this rule be published in one
of the public Gazettes of this state, once a month
for three months before the sitting of sand court, in
September next.

of the defendants in this case, resides out of the

(August) term of said court: and that a copy of this
order be served on said Benjamin at least sixty days
before the time for said appearance expires, or that
this order be published once a month for three

JL parts of the State,*so many orders for Grants
and Detached Plot9 of Land in the recently'acquired
Territory, that he feels himself compelled to advertise
a general Agency of this business.
All persons, therefore, who may desire Grants or
Detached Plots from the Surveyor General’s Office
at Milledgeville, may depend on receiving them by
the earliest mail, on remitting their orders, post paid,
covering in Bills of the Macon* State Bank, or any
of its Branches, the sum of
$19 for each Grant in the late Lottery,
$11 for do. in the preceding one,
$6 for do. in the anti-preceding one.

PROPOSALS FOR PUBLISHING
A Numerical Register
OF ALL THE DRAWER’S NAMES IN THE
LAST LAND LOTTERY.
1 WILL publish six weeks hence, z Numerical
■ Register of the drawer’s^ names, which will be
so convenient for reference, that 1 doubt not it will
be veiy acceptable te those who have frequent oc
casion to examine for the numbers of lots’draftm by
individuals residing in different parts of the State. 1 «
will furnish copies to those who subscribe for the
Register and pay the money in advance, for $3, and
to non-subscnbers, for $5. On receiving the several
amounts advanced, I will immediately transmit re
ceipts for the same. The numbers of all the lots ic
each district will be arranged in regular numerical
order, and the districts and counties in which the
drawers resided at the tone they gave in their draws
will be inserted in the Register. It will Be an exact
copy of the Namerical Book nr the Executive De
partment. The Printer assures me that he wili put
the matter in type nearly as fast as t furofoh it* and
he has already commenced.
As. Che expense of the printing and manuscript is
heavy, I solicit the active exertions of every one who
feels interested in its success.—Lists of the quality
of the land are already published, and these I will
forward* on application, for $2 a copy. I will use
every exertion to have the copies printed and ready
for distribution ttt the expi ration of sir week*.
