ought hi die, you had hotter cumo up

If I can g« t tho chalien to food my

He says that ho would like to givo uh

but can’t help himself, lie says that
Mr. 11. P. Lumpkin don’t allow him
to givo any more to eat. I don’t wish
you any harm, but it seems that you
wont to see a poor man who is in jail
suffer for something to out. You beom
to forget that some of the best men
that ever lived havo been in prison.
Wo get a little to oat of mornings
and at dinner, and sometimes wo
don’t get any thing to cat or drink
from morning till night. Mr. C. P.
Gordon allows Amos to cutfao us, ai d
to tell us if ho lmd his way, lie would
not givo us u drop of water to drink;
hut says that ho hates to see ns suffer
ing and if ho could, would gi.o us a
plenty to cat; lie hays that ho is woili
ng for Mr. iI. P. Lumpkin by the
mouth, and that Mr. Lumpkin will
not allow him lo give us any more.
Mr. Gordon further says that ho would
givo us clothes and blankets to keen
us warm, but Mr. Brewer will not al
low it, I think that if any ono of you
will oomo and take the curbing and
other abuses that I have to tuko, you
would not say anything about unruly
prisoners. Von would try to got out
of this place. It seems to me iliat if
tho county allows 40 cents a day for
feeding prisoners, wo poor Btifl'uors
ought to get at least 15 ce nts worth
of rations. 'Ibis in all 1 havo to say.
