“SITUS' FOR A LAW $ VIT."
Four ‘American gent’emen of African

evidently to scare up a law suit agaipst
some railroad. To accomplish their de
sign they thrust themselves into the la*

Hence no suit could be brought ngainet
the railroad. At Montgomery they en

it, leaving the colored advouturers to

The news of their coming
had reached Conyers and other points,

Ovl ihe ‘colored individuals’ aforesaid that
it would be deoidedly unhealthy for them
to remain in that car. They advised
them as frieuds to remove to another car
whicn they did and we presume they
were landed safely in Augusta. So far
they have been unsuccessful! in getting
up a law suit. It t thought that they
are going to meet Morton,
The foregoing we have taken from the
Atlanta Constitution of Saturday. Not
being oue of the parly, we cant vouch
ior its truth ; anyhow it maj be so, for
Conyers is a big place and people usually
change cars in large cities, and some
time in small ones—Conyers is one of
that sort.

Eighteen hundred an seventy-six is the
Centennial year. It is also the year in which
an Opposition House of Representatives, the
first since the war, wn be in powei at Wash
ington; and the year of the twenty-third elec-*
tion of a President of the United States. All
of these events are sure to be of great interest
and importance, especially the two latter; and
all of them and everything connected with
them will be fully and freshly reported and
expounded in Thi Sun.
The Opposition House of Representatives,
taking up the line of inquiry opened years ago
by The Sun, will sternly and diligently inves
tigate the corruptions and misdeeds of Grant’s
administration ; and it will, it is to be hoped,
iay the foundation for anew and bettx r period
In cur national history. Of all this The Sun
will contain complete snd accurate accounts,
furnishing its readers with, early and trustwor
thy information.upon these absorbing topics.
The twentythird Presidential election, with
the preparations for it, will be ruam n-able as
deciding upon Grant's aspirations for a third
term of power and plunder, and still more as
.deciding who shall be the candidate of the
party of Reform, and as electing that candi
date. Cono.'ining all these subjects, those
who read The Sun will have the constant
means of b ring thoroughly wall ii formed
The Weeklv Sun, which has attained a
circulation of over eighty thousand copies, al
ready bas its readers in every tit ate and Ter
ritory, and we trust that the year 1876 will
see their numbers doubled. It will continue
to be a thorough newspaper. All the general
news of the dav wi.l be found in it, condensed
when unimportant, at full length when of mo
ment ; and always, we trust, treated in a clear
nteresting and hist ructivo manner.
It is our aim to make the Weekly Sun the
best family newspaper in the world, and we
shall continue to give in its columns a large
amount of miscellaneous reading, such as sto
ries, tales, poems, scientific intdll gerice and
' agricultural information, for which we are not
able to make room iu our daily edition. The
agricultural department especially is ofle of its
prominent features. The fashions are also reg
ularly reported in its columns ; and ao are the
markets of every kind.

The • introduction of the crops thoughou

done at the West. The Chut'a is planted in a

qualed for fattening hogs, poultry—and chil
dren. One acre will fatten more hogs tha
ten acres of the best corn, besides furnishinn

The Japan Pea fully established its merits
several years ago, and is now iu universal de
mand. It grows upright Like a-cfottoft stalk,
is Cultivated like corn, and yields from 150 to
300 bushels an acre on ordinary land. Stock
of all kinds relish it and thrive highly on it
without other feed. Also excellent for table

costly that we cannot make any discount to
wholesale dealers or granges.
When Southern planters grow, their own

hear no more of hard times and “middlemen”
or this will put an end to both. If you fear
