Genl. VMt. Cook In Taylor
County
At the Democratic meeting, ou
last Saturday, there was not a very
large atteudauce of the citizens of
Taylor county, but enough were
present to express the views and
sentiments of the people of the
county at large. Those who
were present were among the most
intelligent of the county, aud the
majority seemed to be armed with
faith aod determination for Geol.
Cook. There were a few who ob

objection to Genl Cook’s course
in Congress. We think this a
poot* excuse to find fault of a man
who has tried to do his whole duty
and faithfully serve his coustitueuts.
We did not expect anything else but
to see Blew men who would come up
in this manner; it is all that makes a
meeting,of this kind interesting; for
some oue to oppose; it is human na
ture. It is true there are other men
in this District who might do as well
as Genl, Cook, but we've got that risx
