SHOWS FOR WEEK
AT DEAR THEATRE
Sun. & Mon.: “I Married An
Angel," a romantic musical espe
cially fashioned for the particular
talents of Nelson Eddy and Jea
nette McDonald. It is big, elaborate
and beautifully mounted and. cos
tumed. It is direct from the Broad
way hit of the same name. The lo
cal is pre-war Budapest. Added to
the wonderful performance of the
team, Eddy-McDonald team, is add
ed other popular elements; lavish
all eartljly things and
trusted Jesus. He endured great
persecutions because he truly loved
the master.
The- Spirit
Peter in his old age was ready to
testify that he was just what God
had made him, and that everything
about life that was really satisfac-
was of spiritual origin.
Furthermore, he had become en
abled to become a partaker of the
nature of the divine, and by doing
this had escaped the evils and
lusts of the world. Jesus lived in a
world of different, ambitions. In a
world where cultured men placed
their trust in philosophy, while oth
ers trusted in worldly riches. And
still others placed their trust in
worldly pleasures. .One of the mis
sions of Jesus in this world was to
teach men that these trusts were
provided on that which would per
ish. He taught man that faith in Al
mighty God was the only trust that
would ultimately save.
Growth in Christian Graces
In verses 5-8 he gives us a picture
of how man advances, if he has
faith in Christ, fro mone spiritual
grace to another. All these things
God has for us, says Peter. Then if
we are going On into spiritual per
fection, we must use God-given
powers .to do some things for our
selves.
Peter plainly teaches us that in
the growth of every Christian,
faith is the thing of importance. If
a man's faith does not lead him
to lead a good life, it is proof that

The Boy Advanced
In the second verse of pur lesson
we have a picture of our Lord as
